Wide receiver Robinson faces new DUI charge

Seahawks wide receiver Koren Robinson has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and reckless driving, city of Medina prosecuting attorney Russell Joe confirmed this morning.

Robinson was arraigned yesterday in Kirkland Municipal Court. He pleaded not guilty to both charges.

Robinson was arrested early on the morning of May 6 after a Medina police officer stopped him for excessive speeding and unsafe lane travel eastbound on SR 520. The officer, according to a statement from Medina police, smelled intoxicants on Robinson's breath and asked Robinson to take a field sobriety test.

Robinson willingly complied, and was arrested after he failed the test. After being taken to the Kirkland Police Department station, he was notified of what he was being charged with and released to a friend.

Robinson, a 2001 No. 1 draft pick, is scheduled to appear before Judge Albert M. Raines in Kirkland court on July 18.

The incident could signal the end of his Robinson's Seahawks' career. He has been in an alcohol-abuse rehabilitation program after being suspended for four games last season for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy, and was also benched for two more as disciplinary action from the team.

Today is the day the Seahawks can release players and not take as big a hit against their future salary cap. Robinson was purported to be a candidate to be released because of his issues regardless of the recent charges.
*************

When will they let this asshat go? #7 overall pick in the draft. Nice going Seahawks!

Maybe they'll trade Koren and Alexander for Ricky Williams just so both teams can have new malcontents?

I was just thinking he'd be perfect opposite David Boston.

The hawks sure won't miss the drops.

Yeah, they've still got Darrell Jackson to fill that need.

I recently saw Koren Robinson out to dinner at a nice restaurant downtown.

He was looking pretty sharp, I guess...nice looking suit, and a doo-rag.

A suit and a doo-rag!!

Bon voyage, Koren. Have fun dropping passes for somebody else next year...that is, if you can actually stay off the drugs & booze long enough to actually get some playing time.

This further supports my out of left field prediction that the Arizona Cardinals will be the 2005 NFC West champions.

Robinson = never getting close to Dallas... we could have a wounded duck and Joe Garigiola as our WR's and Koren still wouldn't even be considered

He can run fast, that's about it.
His routes suck, he doesn't block, and he has far too many balls hit him in the hands.

/has seen every Seahawks game for 3 years.

I wouldn't argue w/ AS on this one. Take it from a guy (AS) who lives in Seattle.

Koren Robinson may be the worst WR I've ever seen. Seriously.
