Allstate to sponsor Brickyard 400
Star report

Say goodbye to the Brickyard 400. Say hello to the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard.

Insurance company Allstate has signed two multi-year sponsorship agreements with Indianapolis Motor Speedway as the title sponsor for the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard – becoming the first company to title sponsor the annual NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race at IMS.

The Allstate 400 at the Brickyard airs Sunday, Aug. 7 at 1:30 p.m. (EST) on NBC.

Allstate also announced a multi-year deal with NASCAR, making the company the official insurance sponsor of NASCAR, which includes the auto, home and life insurance categories as well as an official sponsor for the categories of mutual funds and retirement products. Allstate becomes the first-ever insurance company to officially partner with NASCAR.

"This deal came together more quickly than any deal I've been associated with. This one felt very good." said Allstate Chief Marketing Officer Joe Tripodi.

“This is an historic and exciting agreement for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway,” said Indianapolis Motor Speedway President and Chief Operating Officer Joie Chitwood. “Allstate will be an ideal partner as the first title sponsor of the Brickyard 400 because it shares some of the same qualities as the Indianapolis Motor Speedway – leadership in its field and a customer-focused attitude. Allstate is a perfect fit with the Speedway for this unique and prestigious partnership.”

When asked if track officials would consider a title sponsor for the Indianapolis 500, Chitwood said, "We've been here since 1911; we would never want to change that."

Chitwood would not divulge the financial arrangements, but acknowledged it's on the high side of standard title sponsorship deals for major sporting events.

The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is the largest spectator sporting facility in the world and is also host to the Indianapolis 500 and the United States Grand Prix.

Allstate plans to complement its partnership with a number of local programming efforts and dedicated advertising and marketing initiatives

It's not just cars turning left to me.

It's like saying Pearl Jam is just a bunch of guys playing some instruments.

FUCKING HELL.

The Brickyard 400, didn't need a sponsor, it's like the Indy 500 in the IRL. The sponsor is the race track itself.

FUCK.

First they move The Mountain Dew/Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway from Labor Day weekend to November.

And now they put a sponsorship on the name of the Brickyard 400.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

NASCAR pisses me off with shit like this. Sponsorships on races that have traditionally not had one? Gay. I'll take World 600, Firecracker 400, and Brickyard 400 anyday over Coca-Cola 600, Pepsi 400, and Allstate 400.

Can you imagine if they put a sponsorship on the Daytona 500?
