Thought this was worth a laugh....

By JON SARACENO, USA TODAY

Ed Betz, AP
"I know Hank (Aaron) and Jackie (Robinson) took a good deal of crap, but I guarantee it wasn't for six years," John Rocker on the abuse he takes from fans.

John Rocker should go away.

Go sell cars. Be a mortgage broker. Get into the health field; we hear that industry is booming. So is real estate. "Rocker Realty" has a nice ring to it.

Do anything, J.R. - just stop shooting yourself in the foot by playing baseball. A pitcher who can't locate the plate is useless enough, but a lack of self-control off the mound is bad for personal karma and customer relations. If the bullpen bully has learned anything since his controversial remarks in 1999, it's that baseball is a business.

Yes, even in the minor leagues.

Rocker's only 30. Trouble is, he can't break a windowpane with his fastball pitching for the Long Island (N.Y.) Ducks. He certainly can't deal with fans stressing him out, which is what happened last week. It's tough enough to sit on your keister in a nylon satin jacket on cold spring evenings trying to crack sunflower seeds between your chattering teeth without having to listen to critics in the stands.

Maybe music is in his future. Longhaired Johnny Rocker would make a terrific frontman for a Pearl Jam knockoff band. (Then again, there's a lot of beer and testosterone in music. The last thing this guy needs is to be revved up.) He's probably best suited to sitting in some office in a suburban shopping center. It's pretty hard to get heckled sitting at your Century 21 desk.

I really think the writer just came up with a random band. Their is no relationship there, except that Ed likes baseball.

Shouldn't the title of the thread by John Rocker to replace Scott Stapp?

How is John Rocker anything like Eddie?

And I'm fairly certain that Jackie Robinson and Hank Aaron took abuse for much more than six years. I find it funny that this guy is now playing in New York.

I suggest Chemical Castration. This guy is absolutely the most self centered idiot on the planet. He's just so fucking stupid. He should be in a zoo. It's absolutely amazing how utterly stupid he is.

I had a friend from my college's baseball team that did a clinique with him, after they spent the morning talking about the importance of Mechanics, Meat head, tells the kids, naw, I just really reach back and throw it.

Then he compares himself to Jackie Robinson and Hank Aaron. John Rocker could not hold thier jocks. He has no Idea the abuse they went through. He was a good pitcher, for all of 2 weeks. Further proof that this guy is just fucking stupid. Let's stop printing what he says.

It's pathetic really. His sad ass was in a bar here last winter screaming at people. Put him in a cage so we can gawk at him and give him the attention he so desires, and by all means keep his genes out of the pool.

First Presbyterian Day School in Macon, Georgia's proudest graduate I'm sure.

So yeah, even private schools blow it sometimes.

It has been in Newsday several times, for some reason the site will not work on my cpu. His hair is pretty long now, looks like a douche.

Wow, thanks.

Call me crazy, but I was always a Rocker fan. Loved the intensity.
