anyone who says steve nash winning the mvp was racially motivated is fucking retarded. not every fucking thing is about race. quit bringing it up.

the heat made the playoffs last year, the suns didn't. the suns won more games than the heat this year. end of story.

mild mannered white cunts like myself are starting to get tired of the race card being played every time something doesn't come up milhouse for a black person. we're not all fucking racist, but the whiny buttfucks aren't helping the cause. i can't believe this was even on sportscenter. fuck! must we keep paying penance for shit that happened before we were even swimming in our daddy's nutsacks?

I still wouldn't call it race related. Miami's success could be attributed to Wade's vastly improved numbers as well as Shaq. And it's not as if nobody voted for Shaq. It was the 4th closest vote ever.

to the first question, i say yes. we're not talking about his old team or last year. we're talking about this team, this year. had shaq won, you would have heard no complaint out of me. he's a worthy candidate as well obviously, and i wouldn't have said some dumb ass rush limbaugh comment like he only won because he's black. truth is, i don't even like basketball. i'm just tired of everything being about race. it seems like a white guy these days can't earn anything on his own merit anymore; rather, it's always at the expense of a more worthy black man. it's that kind of shit that breeds racism, i think. and it's in all that would be racist. yet you never see black comedians making fun of anything other than white people. wtf?

and no, i'm not from boston. i'm from northern ass minnesota. why do you ask?

if we're not talking about last year then why do you mention that the heat made the playoffs last year?

The Mavs also have Dampier, Josh Howard, Marquise Daniels, etc, who've all made great contributions. The team is doing better because they're much more gutter, not because Nash left.

Nash deserved the MVP, no doubt.

The racist argument is pretty retarded. Seriously. What race have most of the MVPs in the league been? Oh wait. Black. Stockton didn't get the MVP because he's black. Oh wait. The last white MVP was Larry Bird in 1986.

There is a certain braindead part of our population that will scream "racism" whenever a white person accomplishes anything. All these idiots are doing is hurting those that are really hurt by racism. And none of them are fricking NBA players.

A social commentary by me. I really hope I don't piss anyone off...just exercising my right to free speech here:

Aside from extremists such as the KKK and neo-nazi's, etc, I strongly believe that by and large, black people in America are more "racist" than white people.

As someone stated...any time something good happens to a white guy (ie - Nash) or something bad happens to a black guy (ie - NBA instituting an age limit, which is racist according to Jermaine O'Neal) it seems like black people come out in droves claiming racism.

I'm sorry, I don't know what it was like to be a slave. But if you're reading this right now, neither do you. Slavery's been gonzo for hundreds of years. Can we please stop bringing that up....SOMEDAY????

I liked the comment earlier about "swimming around in our daddies nutsacks." For the record, there is not a single person alive today who participated in slavery in America as we discuss it today. We are generations upon generations removed from that time period...and oh by the way, if you're not happy after having been brought to America decades ago, then please feel free to go back where you "came" from. I hear Africa's a REALLY nice place to live, what with the continued civil war and slavery and what not, that is still going on today. My background is German...and until they broke down that Berlin wall, I was fucking ashamed to be German and I would have never wanted to visit. Thank GOD that my family is now in America...regardless of how we got here however many years ago. It's nice to know and appreciate where your family come from...but I'm fucking American baby. Period.

Please don't get me wrong...I understand this post may sound racist to some, but I'm just trying to call it like I see it. I love black people and I could not imagine the world without them. I do not look at a black guy and think to myself "hey, that guy is here because ages ago his ancestors were brought here as slaves." Rather, I look at him/her and think "oh look, there's a person...and they're black...big fucking deal." The only "racist" thought that enters my mind is "hmm, I bet that guy can jump higher than I can" which I believe is not only a true fact, but a very innocent thought at that. Christ, if I was black, I'd be fucking stoked that everyone thought I was a good athlete.

Sorry this is so long...it's just that this thread got me thinking. Just because something bad happens to you, it doesn't mean you have to start playing the goddamn race card. I'm fucking sick of the race card, no matter WHO is using it. Black, white, yellow, turquoise...whatever. Anyone who regularly plays the race card is living in a very paranoid reality.

PS - I would have voted for Shaq, but Nash is also very deserving. Nash winning has absolutely NOTHING to do w/ the fact that he's white, or that he's Canadian...

Jesus Christ! Can't we just give the guy credit for having a great season and racking up W's!

I repeat: Anyone who claims Nash's MVP was racially motivated is a fucking idiot living under a paranoid blanket of fear.

Obviously it has nothing to do with him being Canadian. Do people really care about that?

Utterly ridiculous. The Miami Herald was one of the newspapers claiming the race card, someone should post the actual article to be refuted.

I so badly wanted to simply post in this thread that: "Steve Nash is an African-American." But it turns out he's a Canadian citizen.

Oh well, African-Canadian sounds like a good consolation. Or, he's still an African-American if you count North America as "America".
