I did, ONCE.....and Ive been to hundreds of games over the years, most of them at Shea Stadium, and almost every one in the exact same company seats, BX 233, Section F.

A few have landed like one or two rows away or in front.....but in 1996 I went to a mets/ Rockies sunday game and in the 5th inning Dante Bichette hit a line drive right at me. It was comming at me in slow motion, so it seemed, and I stood up but before I could put down my girlfriends soda and whatever else I had in my other hand, the ball hit me right on the leg and plopped....so Im screaming at my brother "pick it up pick it up!!"....and he does......and the fucker actually thinks HES KEEPING IT?

bullshit, my bruise, my ball.

and once we had seats 2 rows behind the yankee dugout and I saw my cousin literally step ON his sister in laws back to get an Andy Stankiewicz foul ball.

i never have, but my dad caught two at one game. I'm too short, i would have to grab it after it hit the ground already. But I did get one of the kickballs that ICP kicked out into the crowd at Woodstock99 with a $100 bill attached to it, but once again that was a scramble at the bottom of the pile.

back in the 1970s I got quite a few from the old Denver Bears games...even got some bats before the game...Never had one yet at a major league game though..I did get one from Gary Sheffield when he was with the Zephyrs.

this buds for you crowd diving over your mother in law to get a foul ball guy. :)

one of my buddies caught one that actually made it to us in the upper deck, then he handed it to the young kid behind us in the stands. What the hell were we gonna do with an 8 dollar baseball, give it to the kids after you catch it. It'll mean a lot. I remember bringing my glove to games when I was a kid.

Id do the same, however if the ball hits you, its yours. no questions.

pain = suvenier!

when I was 12 my firnd and I spent 8 innings yelling at John Franco to throw us up a ball, and he must have gotten tired of us cause he did, only a rather large asshole stood right behind us and swiped it from us before we could catch it.

Fowl ball, huh? This doesn't happen to have anything to do with fried chicken, does it?

At a Yankee game in 1985, my stepmother caught a foul ball in the forehead and somehow we recovered it. I've never caught one, although I've left a game with a ball in other ways. Once when I was about 8 years old I went early to the game and ended up having a catch with Toby Harrah of the Texas Rangers. I think he was just trying to throw me the ball, but I kept throwing it back, so it became "having a catch".

Another time we were at a game in September and it was really cold. My little sister, who was probably about 5 or 6 at the time was sitting and shivering on my mother's lap in her rainbow colored stocking cap. Apparently, Billy Martin thought this was about the cutest thing he'd ever seen because he sent the batboy over between innings with a signed ball for her. :D

I've been to hundreds of games over the years, and the only thing I ever got was a puck during warm-ups at a Boston Bruins game.

I caught a foul ball once. During the 2003 NLCS at Wrigley, i think it was game 6. It was right down the left field line past the bullpen. It was close to staying in the field of play, but i said fuck it, how often do you have the chance to catch a foul ball? So i went after it. Right after that it seemed like everything started to fall apart for the cubs :(

Thats what you get for listening to a stupid Lenny Kravitz CD during the game.

i work at the same company as that dude. my desk used to be about ten feet away from his.

anyway, never caught a ball at a game, but if i did, i'd probably admire it for about 30 seconds and then give it to a likely grade schooler nearby.

I have actually never caught a foul ball. I had one bounce and then hit off of my hand. I also just found a ball wedged in a seat during batting practice once.

Funny you said that, I was just thinking about that the other day and I would definitely give it to the closest kid around. Too bad it won't be this year since I am boycotting the Phillies.

Seriously, what's the point? I don't see the reason why people would want to dive several roads ahead to catch a foul ball.
