I'm shocked. Chalk this one up to Chris Weber being unhappy with the way O'Brien used him. Bold move by the Sixers. Can't say I'm suprised that Cheeks is the replacement.

This is a good move.

Now that they have a great coach they need to work on their roster.

Ok, I'll bite...

How is Mo Cheeks a "great coach" by any stretch of the imagination?

Solid? Yes, but then so was O'Brien, IMO.

I'm not sure you want to kowtow to Webber, anyway. He's the antithesis of a leader, and his game is shot...

i think this was also aimed towards enticing Dalembert and Willie Green to stay...Webber is probably happy as hell right now no doubt.

my question is, after having the best season of his career , how does Iverson feel about this?

it's more than that. there was a "player mutiny" and ALL of them told king in their exit interviews that o'brien was a terrible coach (but i'm sure iverson was the softest on him).

i hope he does. AI played beautifully, the team didn't. mo knows a real point guard has to move the ball around, not hold for 15-20 seconds and then start running a play. if he can convince allen to pass a lot earlier, though, i say keep him at point guard.

This is the 5th coach Iverson will have in 10 seasons. 4th in the last 2 years.

I bet the only Sixer really dissapointed is Korver since O'Brien gave him an opportunity that no coach in the league would give him. I think he averaged 7+ 3 point attempts a game.

Oh, and when is Billy King gonna catch some heat for all the failed moves he's made?

I'm quite shocked by this. Heck the only guy that can coach A.I. is probably A.I. That boy will never win a title, and Phili fan will remain sad.

My favorite part is the Sixers will be paying for 4 coaches this coming season. Cheeks, Ford, Ayers and O'Brien. Awesome management right there.
