ok this is for all the laker fans out there. what do u guys think about the new team? they should be ok if everyone stays healthy. i know one thing they are going to be alot more athletic and better on defense. also, this is not a thread for all u guys to say " how much kobe is a bad person or a rat". u know what? i really dont care what he does in his personally life, but i do kow that on the basketball court he brings it. :x

shaq doesnt play defense. 11 rebounds and 2 blocks for the "mde"? ben wallace laughs at those numbers

"mde"? its hard to be the most dominant ever when he plays about 50-60 games a year. anyway k g numbers made shaq look pedistrian last year. and i dont care how much weight he loses or how hard he plays, his body will not hold up b/c he has not taken care of it(ie. he has a hamstring problem all ready and the regular season hasnt even started!!!!!!!!!! )

11 boards and 2 blocks per game? (pfft)

Jermaine O'Neal puts up better numbers than that, and he's half the weight and 3 inches shorter. Shaq Diesel will up those numbers in the East though.

Playoff picture in the East could get really good this year...

New York vs. Indiana
Detriot vs. Miami

I would love to see this...

The team looks pretty impressive so far, and there has been a few big surprises... Mihm, Butler, and Tierre Brown have played pretty damn well and it looks like they're gonna help out a lot. It's gonna be a really exciting season and I can't wait till they surprise the shit out of everyone in the league.

for lunkin and will....

you both realise that jermaine and ben played in the weaker conference, right?

quick, name 3 quality bigs in the east, not named jermaine or ben from last year.

lets see, boozer, kmart and.....and.....hmmmm....and.....ummmmm

celtics : noone
philly : noone
washington: noone
miami: grant
orlando: gooden
new orleans: pj brown
milwaulkee: noone
knicks: kurt thomas
chicago: noone
toronto: noone
atlanta: noone

now lets see who was out west

duncan, ming, webber, kg, brand

sonics: noone
golden state: dampier
sacremento: miller
houston: maurice taylor
dallas : diggler
utah: noone
memphis: gasol
portland: reef, zach and theo
phoenix: amare

gee which conference looks stronger player wise, and please notice i said player, not team

if you guys dont believe shaq is by far the most dominant player in the last 30 years not named mike, then thats your opinion, but ill bet if people are drafting players, shaq goes before ben and jermaine 8 outta 10 times

i never said that jermaine oneal is better than shaq, all i hinted to was that shaq can do a little more on defense as far as rebounding and blocking shots. as a laker fan i have seen too many times where shaq has not rebounded and defended the paint area like he should. also i will never forget the game a couple of years ago where he totally 1 REBOUND  and last year he had a game where he had just 3 REBOUNDS and after the game derek fisher and karl malone made fun of him

Jermaine O'Neal has comparable defensive numbers, not better ones (2.3 blocks, 10 rebounds vs Shaq's 2.3 blocks and 11 rebounds), while Shaq is a much better offensive player. And of course Wallace is nowhere near the offensive player that Shaq is. And, like Peeps said, Shaq put up those numbers against far, far, far better competition.

Shaq is and has been for years the best center in the NBA. He's also one of the best basketball players ever. Right up there with Kareem and Jordan. Top 10 all time without a doubt. Probably top 5.

The Lakers will be lucky to go .500 this season.
Kobe thinks he's fucking Michael Jordan, but even MJ in his prime couldn't carry that team in the West this season.
