I played paintball for the first time today (just got home), and had a pretty good time.
Didn't really hurt that much except when you get shot in the neck (from the side so it got me right next to my adams apple), or in the back when your walking away, gun in the air after being shot already (bastards!!).
People I shot as a ratio to people who shot me:
(Approx) - 8:42.
(The people I played with didn't seem all that competitive, so I'd be running around but they'd just be camping in one spot picking me off - there were a lot of stalemates).

Did you play on a course or in the woods?
I always preferred paintballing in the woods. We built some badass bunkers and treestands. The only bad part about the treestands was that it increased your chances of getting shot in the nuts. Not good.

Both actually, well a course in the woods - except here we call it the bush (or boosh). There were a few that we played on, one that was proper bush with a little creek running through it and a kinda crappy course with just man made stuff about on a football field.
When you say treestand do you mean like a treehouse?
I used to be into paintball pretty hardcore. I had a bad ass gun that would shoot 15 rounds per second and was on an amateur team. Then i realized i was fucking insane for spending $80 for a case of paint that would get me through 1/2 the day. I still play every once in a while, but if you're not playing against people that are as good / competitive (dont mean to brag...) it gets old and boreing pretty fast. Glad you had a good time though.
