:D Cool man, it's about time we showed the world how to do this shit. The olny downside is that it's going to cost me in tax hikes to pay for it...

I am SOOOOOOOOOO glad NYC didnt get it. It would have basically shut the city down for two weeks. Its hard enough to get around the city as it is, there would be no need to add several million other people. Go London. Although, I think it would be nice to see Paris get it.

Jets still own the land and could still attempt to privately finace the whole thing........but that wouldn't be very smart.

If built, that thing will never pay for itself.

I'm happy for London and relieved for NYC. That would have been a logistical nightmare for the NYPD and a total headache for NYC residents (my family). I'm kind of bummin' for my Mets though. The new Stadium we were to have built next door to the one now existing was contingent on NY getting the Olympics.

I don't think that's the case. Wilpon is going to pay for it, the city was only going to pay for the conversion from baseball to olympic stadium.

I'm glad London got the Olympics instead of Paris.

And I'm so glad New York didn't get them!

I think your right, new Shea was going to happen either way.

Excellent, I stand corrected.

IMO, NYC is better off without the Olympics. With all the $$$ required to set up for and secure the games, turning a profit doesn't seem like that sure a thing and NYC couldn't afford to lose any more money right now.

Besides, I feel bad for you guys, all you have is soccer and cricket. You need some real sports once in a while.

I was just kidding. There's nothing wrong with football, but if it was the only sport I had to watch, I'd be bored as hell.
