i didnt wanna drop the stats....But he could SINGLE HANDEDLY do it on his own, was with prolly one of the shittiest Olines for 3/4 his career and maybe 2 years where they had Mitchell, Perrimen, Moore and Morton he was the only offensive threat and still got the job done.

Championship wise, no, but individual Running back, yes. The only other id consider is Jim Brown.

people will always side with their favs, but with a yard or two to go it was either brown, emmitt, or payton. i would never want sanders for that. he made the long run, but also had many times where he'd dance and lose yardage.

well its really just how you look at it. He had to dance because of his line, and even with all of teh loss of yards he still should be the record holder if he hadnt retired early. Which means you give him Dallas Oline, Aikmen, Irvin, Moose Barry whould have had a handful of 2000 yard seasons.

And its so hard to compare backs like that, i wouldnt want barry to get that 1 or 2 yards either, he wasnt a pounder like the aforementioned.

 i love how you highlighted he threw 3 TD's, like that has any relavence.

But the only thing i really look for is YPC, because play calling can really screw with TD's but YPC is a great measure...and like i said I think its Barry and the only other i would consider is Brown.

If the only thing you look at is YPC and Brown's was better... put the pieces together

Whether or not you respect TD's or not, Brown had a nose for the endzone, which you just can't ignore... he had 7 more TD's than Barry did in 35 fewer games... that's insanity

 if you go to brown's hall of fame page, they have it higlighted, thats why i included it (plus its pretty cool). Also being the best RB would be the whole package, not just rushing, right??

Im not gonna lie and say that im not being a tiny homer cuz i grew up with him. But i just think he was the most fascinating back, and he wa smore than respectable in all categories....but that INT sure does screw him

And what i meant with the YPC is thats all that matters but there are obvious other attributes...but like ive been saying I saw Barry play my entire life and know how hard it was for him to get that 5 YPC and then how he lost so much trying to make somethign happen (which can be viewed as a negative i suppose) but to me if he had a decent Oline at best hes have 20,000 yards.

actually, Barrys oline ultimately was underrated for most of his career. Glover and Brown were Pro-Bowlers year in year out, and Utley, Andolsek, Hartings and E. Sanders were also pretty decent lineman. Barry wouldnt run through holes, even when they made them.

2 things hurt barry more than the national public seems to recognize- never had a great qb- which emmitt did.
and the other...

Wayne Fontes (barrys coach for most his career) knew his job depended on Barry Sanders- and if barry got hurt, he would be done. He would rarely, if ever, allow barry to touch the ball within the 5 yard line. It would always be a back up, or a fullback. That hurt his TD numbers more than you can measure honestly- as i would love to see the figures for how many TD's emmitt had once he was inside the 5.

1. Barry
1A. Brown
3. Payton
4. Emmitt.

Barry Sanders is the second greatest football player i've ever seen play, second to John Elway. That being said, I never saw Jim Brown play. I would say that Barry Sanders is definately better than Emmitt Smith

i'll say barry, simply because he was so much better than his contemporaries and i'm not a hundred years old so i didn't see sayers and brown in their prime, nor red grange.
