I watched the video on MLB.com and while I agree that he shouldn't have aimed for the head I thought it was a little weak for Guillen to just throw his bat away and complain he wasn't on first base. It also would have helped if the announcers weren't all completely biased against the Royals and didn't turn into Bobby The Brain and Gorilla Monsoon calling a WWF match

If you think you've been hit by a 90 MPH fastball, you assume you're going to be standing on 1st base. Replays were somewhat inconclusive. Guillen didn't mean to show Hernandez up by doing what he did (besides, Hernandez had already drilled 2 Tigers by that point -- it wasn't beyond comprehension to think he should have been standing on 1st). If Hernandez wanted to retaliate, he could have done so by hitting him in the leg or ass. He could have ruined Guillen's career or, worse, killed him. What Hernandez did was flat out inexcusable.

Even if they are on the awful pathetic royals, no one in the major leagues misses so poorly with a fast ball that they hit people in the head. It's unfortunate Hernandez was not the guy Farnsworth leveled.

and the way hernendez approached Guillen, its almost like the pitcher came after the batter....if you dont hit the guy on purpose you walk back grab some dirt and let him go to first and ignore him, you dont walk towards him starting shit.
the worst part is, farnsworth wil get the biggest fine and hes the hottest player for the tigers.....if bonderman gets suspended and if guillen gets more than 1 game, im gonna be pissed compared to what Rogers got. I expect a decent suspension for Farnsworth though, since it didnt look like he was instigated.

Why is it that the Yankees hardly intentionally hit batters? It seems like Jeter gets hit once ever 10 games or so. With a four game series vs Boston just ending, why did they NEVER even throw inside against Manny or Ortiz? Make them move their feet.

Jeter's only been hit 8 times. That's not that bad.

there's no way the rogers incident is worse than this
Rogers went out of his way to go after a civilian doing his job. It's worse.
hernandez could've killed guillen
Hernendez throwing at his head is 10 times worse than what Rogers did...i think Hernendez's suspension will be the worst, but if anyone besides farnsworth gets anythign more than a game itll be terrible.
If assaulting a camera man is a 20 game fine for a starting pitcher, it could be argued it would be a 4-5 game fine for a positional players...its fucking ridiculous, no one should get suspended except Hernendez and Farnsworth based on the Rogers ruling
