Better than the impending rock paper scissor tourney on Spike TV. At least I think that's where it is..

I actually saw some of the Rock Paper Scissors Tourney last night. I was shocked when I first saw it. I still can't tell if I was supposed to take it seriously or not.

There were clips with "expert tips" and back stories on some of the participants. It was very surreal.

That has to be the most retarded thing I have ever heard of. I mean, playing Rock, Paper, Scissors is like flipping a coin. What skill is involved in picking one of three random things that loses to one of the others, beats one of the others and ties one of the others?

That's why the bit with the "expert" so so funnny. What they do is pound their right handed fist into their open left hand three times, and on the fourth, you show rock/paper/scissors. This expert was telling us not show your play too early, as your opponent might see it and react with the correct play. IE, don't show your rock too soon, or your opponent might play paper. You gotta show it at the last possible second.

It was mind boggling.

the only reason espn is still good is the slim chance they may show the charlie steiner laugh fest from carl lewis singing the nation anthem

has anyone found this yet?

Such as? (sorry to go off topic) I dont believe this. There cant be a 'paper scissors rock' face like a poker face. You cant look into someones eyes and see a rock.
Incidently our ESPN station over here also shows dominos (I thought you only used them to make a big line that fell down) and Spelling Bee. Spelling fuckin Bee! Although it was sort of interesting to see the calibre of nerds in America. I love it how the commentators were making it sound like a Superbowl. "Wang Lee is a 3rd year veteran out of Pee Wee Elementary, blah blah"... Its spelling.

Tonight I have a problem.

I love poker.

But, Why is the CWS on the duce and a taped Poker event on espn HD when it wasn't even taped in HD?

I want to watch the CWS in HD!

The Spelling Bee is kinda crazy, but I think it's become traditional in a way. I enjoy watching it for a few. But I can never understand this Poker fad.

I can never understand why anyone would want to watch it. It's getting so bad that it's on ESPN Classic now. Why can't they show Classic sports all the time. It's crazy.

I swear they cover Poker in newspaper sports sections now. It's ludicrous.

Yeah so I get a call from a friend last night who told me that Iguodala had the best dunk of his career last night in the 4th. That kind of claim is something I need to see.

I stay up to watch SC and what do I see? More shameless self-promotion and highlights of shit that I've seen hundreds of times. They found time to squeeze in some actuall highlights of the days big games but I never got to see a Dallas-Philly recap. Fuck you ESPN.

they showed it this morning. it was a rebound dunk. his hand was cocked back to the 9 oclock position. i know this cause they overlayed a clock on his body for demonstration purposes

thanks to youtube, you don't have to wait around for espn to show actual sports highlights any more.

usually anything worth seeing will be uploaded soon after it happens.

So you guys loving the Who's Now segment?

If that isn't bad enough be prepared for a force feeding of the X-Games the likes of which only geese have seen.

it's just the sports dog days. July is a black hole. With the exception of a few baseball diehards, NOTHING is really going on now.

Ever notice all your local sports talk stations are doing community service and telethons around the all star break?

Who's Now is one of the worst segments in the history of Sportscenter. They might as well do highlights of Boomer doing the all star game or the US open.

Or they could just get the worlds strongest man to come over and step on your balls. It's like they know we only watch about 12 minutes of any given Sportscenter and they don't want anyone to watch it any longer than that.

In Philly they just talk about the Eagles during the "slow" times.

I'm almost at the point where I will only turn on ESPN for College Gameday and Baseball Tonight.
