:haha: I love that story. I've heard a similar version years ago, and I believe there are even t-shirts out there that riff on that line, but I couldn't quite remember the context for it all. Thanks for sharing, Nate.

:shake: :shake: :shake: :shake: :shake: :shake: :shake: :shake: :shake: :shake:

From the article, this is perfect:
"SportsCenter once made sports twice as cool, but over the past 15 years it's become an orgy of pandering to dumb people and HOT TOPICS beaten into our heads, slowly making sports insufferable. You know that; but this is a perfect case study. And you know why it really sucks? Because most people don't care and don't even notice, so we'll all slowly get used to it, and one day SportsCenter will pull something like this and it won't even be surprising. Every day, ESPN gets a little dumber and the bar gets set a little lower for next time"

So a whole hour of show, including a three minute drill, and no highlight of the Bucs/Chiefs, Bengals/Browns, and Dolphins/Rams.

Also, over 20 minutes of the episode was spent on Eagles woes, Ravens/Cowboys, and Giants/49ers.

ESPN really sucks. Can't wait to hear Skip Bayless spend 30 minutes on why Tebow should be starter over Sanchez even after yesterday's game.

Then when I look up Bucs highlights on ESPN.com, I get to see Cris Carter and some girl named Prim Sripipat talking about the game. :/

Yeah. ESPN 2 is completely unbearable in the morning. And sportscenter is now nearly unwatchable. Why do we need a 5 minute discussion of what's wrong with the 2-2 Cowboys when there's actually nothing to fucking report, Ed Werder, you complete ass of an idiot?

My teams have to win the championship to get a moment's mention.

New York teams, LA teams, and the Heat and Cowboys. That's it. All they talk about.

Stephen A Smith is a caricature, as is Skip Bayless. Stuart Scott, John Buccigrass, everyone on NFL countdown except Tom Jackson, Curt Schilling.

The list goes on and on...they pick the most annoying people. It's seriously beyond my comprehension how bad they are at picking personalities for television.

And how do Lou Holtz and Lomas Brown get jobs speaking on television? Someone should be punished for putting them on screen.

like I said, feel free to add to the list. Berman is another, and I totally forgot about Holtz. Although I would punch his dentures out so he couldn't spit-talk anymore.

I wonder who keeps beating the Lakers. Has the rest of the NBA teams started their season yet?
