sad day for the Giants and for the NFL. Mara has been around the league FOREVER, and is pretty much responsible for the revenue sharing that allows teams like the Packers to compete every year. He'll be missed...

I'll be quite honest and say that i had never heard of him, but from reading that ESPN article it sounds like he was a huge part of making the NFL what it is today, and really helped the league prosper.

Everything that Darth Steinbrenner isnt regarding sports ownership. This guy as well as the majority of the NFL are the definitions of why baseball completely sucks in comparison.

the funeral was this morning at St. Patrick's in Manhattan. Apparently, there were a lot of big names there: Parcells, Belicheck, John Fox, Romeo, Weiss and plenty of ex-players. Hopefully the Giants can pull out a win for him on Sunday.
