seeing the huggins thread got me thinking.
which coach, if you had the talent, and the scholarship offer from them, would you want to play for?
1. Coack K 1a. Knight 2. Pitino 3. Majerus
I would avoid Knight like the plague.

that's good and all, but at what cost? Mental and sometimes even physical abuse? I don't think so.
Even if you leave that aspect of it out of the conversation, if I were a blue chip prospect, I'd want to play for a coach with a better track record of producing pro players.

Roy Williams - I'd want to make a little extra cash before graduation . . .
or Harrick. I wouldn't want to go to class much.

1. John Thompson 2. Lou Carneseca 3. Bob Knight 4. Rollie Massamino
geez, i was surprised you didn't have lefty driesell on this list.
holy shit!!! I did have him as #5 but I erased him. Weird.
I went to Rollie's Big 5 basketball camp for years as a kid. And I went to another basketball camp where Lefty came in and gave us a speech.
wow.
i think the only basketball coach i ever had any association with was ken trickey, who coached at oral roberts in the 70s and 80s, when they were pretty good.
i'd like to have played for nolan richardson, bully tubbs and kelvin sampson.

The summer after Villanova won the championship at Rollie's camp, they invited Dwayne McClain, Jenson, and Ed Pickney. Ed Pickney was by far the best. Ed was great with us kids and just had a blast.
Also, Billy McCaffrey (Ed's brother) who hit the championship winner for Duke played in our high school's conference. Ed still has one up on Billy though cause Ed's team won the state championship.
