8 IP
11 K (12.39 K/9)
1 BB (11/1 K:BB)
3 H (0.50 WHIP)
1 ER (1.13 ERA)
The stat that impresses me most about this kid since he was called up is the K:BB. It's out of this world for the power of the stuff he's slinging in there! I know it's against the Royals, who are mired in a horrible losing streak, but that still kicks ass.

Unbelievable.
I don't know if anyone else caught this, but it stuck in mind. In his last outing Hernandez threw a 97mph fastball to Lew Ford for strike two. The catcher, Wiki Gonzalez, took off his glove and kind of wrung his hand a little. Next pitch? Big curveball for strike three. I don't know if it was gamesmanship on Gonzalez's part or not, but it definitely demonstrated the kind of command Hernandez has.

dude, they pretty much have him locked up for six years.
So he'll be leaving when he's 25. Before he even hits his "prime".

That boy is good, boys on ESPN Radio comparing him to Gooden when he came up as a 19 year old flamethrower (before the coke habit kicked in).

I had an argument with someone in im, god, i can't remember who (AS), about whether it was wise to call up king felix this year. So far, I think I was right.

It was me. I still think it's stupid if you look historically at what happens to 19 year olds that come up to the bigs.
