His weakness at the net is just too much right now. He has no clue up there. For all the skills he has you would think that he would be able to put it all together. He's gotta grow up and get his priorities srtaight cause he can beat federer if he's playing 100%.

Yeah, it's pretty official that he'll never be good at net and therefore never be 'that' good. If he had any kind of game at the net, he'd have shown flashes of it now. The guy will never be consistant... the frustrating part is that he could beat Federer more if he put it all together... the matches would actually be even

He just lost. Roddick's volleys and backhand were just exposed too much. Roddick does have a history of difficulty with big lefty servers.

He did not look good. I sometimes think Federer is always in the back of his mind no matter who he's playing. We'll see Andy's mojo ads the next two weeks while he's sitting back in Austin watching the open on tv. Rebock already ended their endorsment deal with him and now everything he wears is French. See you at the Aussie open Andy.

i think you hit the nail on the head. My favorite athlete of all time is Pete Sampras and it kills me to think that Federer is better than Pete. He is just so dominating right now. A lot of questions can be asked about Federer(competition, no rivalries etc...), but i gotta be a realist and say that Federer will destroy Pete's grand slam record and will go down as the greatest tennis player ever. There's just nobody even close, he's fucking Ivan Drago. All i can hope is that Rocky comes out of nowhere and chops him down before he gets to the ultimate tennis stature.

that wasn't my initial point, but i'm high right now so let me comment about Lysnergy's post. Federer is embedded in Roddick's head, that's for damn sure. And it is definitely affecting his game, especially in the majors

The problem with Roddick besides the "no game at the net" is also lack of killer instinct or self-belief...the way he was reacting to Muller's shots you could see that he himself didn't believe he could stage a fight back.

Whereas a guy like Lleyton Hewitt would have believed till the last point that he could still come back and win the game...I guess thats the Aussie fighting spirit in him.

Roddick is not the only one with that problem...Marat Safin too for all his talent does not justify it with his erratic play. He has fallen away after the Australian Open again and really he is just as talented as Federer but does not have the mental make-up that makes a great champion.

Perhaps orange text is the reason A-Rod lost.

I don't know why people would like Roddick better than Federer anyway. Federer is awesome.

Andre actually has a great chance to get to the Finals. wont be easy, but with Nadal gone his draw is a lot more open.

id like to see the old man beat Federer......somehow.

i love watching Andre tho. this guy played Conners, Sampras, and Federer. he's the bridge from the past to now. its incredible.
