I go wayyy back with Brent. He was in the first movie i ever saw in a theatre(Rocky II), he was the first football "head honcho of the pre-game shows" that i ever knew, he bantered with Jimmy "The Greek"(one of my idols), then he left for a couple of years. He came back and he sucked, i couldn't even har his voice without wincing. About 7 years ago i changed my opinion about Brent. I love the guy. he is by far my favorite announcer.

He's not perfect, that's for sure, but he calls a great game. he's really into it. Plus he will tell you the "line' of the game down to the half point no matter who is playing. At least it shows that he reads the papers. if anything, he is probably betting on the game and knows more about the matchups than most announcers do. Big thumbs up for Brent, he's the best.

You know, the one year I did bet (way back) I grew to hate "Shitburger" but I do admit he does a good job on the game, it just always seemed he was rooting against me for some reason.

i also have fond memories of him doing the pre-game shows.

haha! Me too...maybe that's why i hated him. He doesn't have a "team" alliance, but he's betting on the games so he's gonna be against you 50% of the time. That's what makes him so much fun!

He's in the movie when Rocky sits on his hardwood floor with his dog(about 48 minutes into the movie). Brent starts reeling off football scores and then visits Apollo in his "palatial" gym and asks Apollo about Rocky.

(This is just from memory)
Apollo: I know a lot of people here, who want to see me in the ring with a timid fellow who calls himself the Italian Stalion. Now this man doesn't have the guts to meet me in the ring...or is it scallion? what is his name?

Brent: In all fairness. A lot of boxng people, including me, thought it was an even draw.

Apollo: That's your opinion and your entitled to it. But now i'm ready to have a rematch. To prove that this lucky cklub fiighter, and that's what he was, Lucky! ...does not have the skill to last 5 minutes with a superior athlete like me.

that's enough for nowe

Sometimes it seems like he isn't paying attention to the game. Like tonight when Miami intercepted a ball and Musburger acted is if it was Miami's ball in the first place and it was a regular reception.

i caught that too but i figured he was just trying to get a last secoond bet in so i forgave him. He definitely isn't perfect but i would raher have him do the game than any other announcer. he knows exactly what is going on when he 'chooses' to pay attention.

That's what I was thinking. He didn't even wear a long sleeve shirt. But I guess if your Brent you could get away with wearing a wife beater.

Brent Musburger is simply horrible. He sounds so drowned out it's ridiculous. I wonder how some of these so called 'popular' commentators keep their jobs.

Sportscaster Musburger Ticketed In Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. -- ABC sportscaster Brent Musburger was ticketed at the intersection of 9th and T Streets in Lincoln after Saturday's Husker game.

Lincoln police said Musburger was a passenger in the ABC crew's rental car.

One witness said a traffic officer had just waved traffic through the intersection when he spotted Musberger drinking a beer.

The witness said he saw other passengers with alcohol, but Lincoln police said only Musburger was ticketed.

The driver was not drinking.

Musburger was given a $144 citation, including court costs.

That's why Brent is the best. Well that and the fact that he announces the spread of the game he's doing

For me, he might be #2 only to Keith Jackson.

I met him at a Husky basketball game a year or two ago...he's awesome.
