You all are just lucky neither I nor Springfield Isotopes made it into the championship bracket, because we both mashed over the last two weeks and would have won against anybody we played.
But yeah, congrats. I came in 2nd (of 10) and 4th (of 12) in my other two years, not nearly as good as last year.

I'm just glad Peter Van Weiren didn't win. he pulled some bullshit in my playoff game against him. He dropped/picked up like 8 pitchers in one day just to win innings pitched and K's. It turned out to bite him in the ass in the next round.

That's not bullshit, that's playing to win. Why you and some other guys whine because your opponents was saavy is really confusing to me.

that's playing to win one playoff game, not the whole thing

And?
and he screwed himself over by dropping all those solid pitchers. He still might have won if he played it straight but he got greedy and it cost him.

i won every pitching category except whip the next week, which i lost by .04. so, how did dropping two pitchers hurt me again?
i didn't drop any "solid" pitchers. the best guy i dropped was greg maddux, who i picked back up two days later. the only pitchers i dropped were john thomson and eric bedard.
it didn't even matter in the end anyway, as i beat you by six categories.
it's good strategy to me..it helped me make it to the finals, and eventually win in my other league
the thing was, it was either going to be a tie with clubber, which he would have won due to an era advantage, or i was going to win. he had to come back in a category to tie it up, but i saw the chance to win innings pitched and strikeouts, and knew if he tried to match me he'd probably end up losing k/bb, which he did anyway. so, i dropped my dead weight and picked up some guys to eat innings and get some strikeouts. they did. i won. end of story.

This thread is quite the pleasant surprise. I haven't been posting much lately because I've been really busy. Strangely enough, I haven't been checking the pool either... I was in fourth place last I checked, and I didn't even know the playoffs had started let alone finished.
I'd like to thanks Jimmy Rollins for his hitting streak, and I'm glad I stuck with him through the end instead of Renteria.
