giving up Sweetney pisses me off, because I am a G'Town fan. But Isaiah was hell bent on getting rid of every player that was there before him, so it was only a matter of time.
Eddy Curry I keep reading can be a dominant big man. except for his lack of work ethic. the Bulls gave up on him and no other team seriously wanted a guy with a supposed bad ticker, so here come the Knicks of course!!
I dunno if giving up sweetney for a guy who could drop dead at any moment is gonna work out.
from a talent standpoint, the trade favors the Knicks.
Tim Thomas is garbage...and Sweetney is a nice player, but he doesn't have Curry's potential to dominate. But, and this is a huge "but", there's a reason this guy was available. Aside from the heart problems, the guy has a reputation as a lazy player. His lousy rebounding numbers are a prime example of this.
I guess it's a trade Isiah had to make, but I have a bad feeling about it...this trade could go really bad for all involved.

those are the questions that'll have to be answered over time to judge if thomas was a good gm. personally, if i was a knicks fan, i wouldn't like the trade. Curry averages more turnovers per game than blocks, steals, and assists combined.

he inherited a team in salary cap hell thanks to Layden. Since then, he's added more $$ to the payroll, but he's brought in several good young players. Not all his moves have worked out, but he hasn't been horrible.

I am ready to say the deal is worth it simply for gettign rid of tim thomas. whata pussy he is.
the Knicks problem with a guy like Sweetney is that they dont have coaches in place to teach a guy like that how to play. Ewing or Oak coulda learned the guy on how to play dont low or rebound like a pro.
Curry was heavily sought after before the heart thingy, but he has to prove the lazy-tag is false. Larry Brown won;t stand for lazy players, so we should know right away which way Eddy Curry might head as a Knick

I really liked what I saw of Lee in summer league. Not sure how much playing time he's going to get though... There are quite a few guys ahead of him. Maybe Thomas can start clearing out guys like Rose and Mo Taylor. Both guys would be useful to a contender.

the James signing falls into the "bad moves by Isiah" category IMO. The guy has been a dog his whole career. I don't think there were other teams lining up to give him the whole exception for 5 years. On the bright side, he's not as untradeable as some of the other awful contracts they've given out over the years. Once there's like 3 years left on the deal, I could see plenty of teams who need depth at center taking his deal.

Curry's stats even all the way back to high school look pretty average for what they gave up to get him. Is he really worth all that?

Dude he's 22. What he did the last 2 years at that age is pretty remarkable, especially if he's being lazy and not working to the level of his ability.
