I just wanted to express my frustration on not having a Sunday Night Game this week. I just think its bullshit that they didnt have a game because of baseball. Not EVERYONE wants to watch the world series.

BULLSHIT...

Oh boo-hoo... you can watch the NFL the whole day tomorrow. The World Series happens once, as opposed to 16 times a year.

I was really unhappy about having to miss the Sunday night game... at least I'm not missing anything now. This years' World Series is boring.

When's the last time opening World Series games have been absolute nailbiters?

2 very evenly matched teams playing for the world title isnt boring to me.

If there isn't some kind of curse surrounding a team or if it isn't America's wonderful Yankees, then people always seem to bitch.

Oh well. They don't know what they're missing. This WS is going to be a good one.

Yeah, I only watched like one inning. Leave me and my uninformed decisions be!

Why can't you just watch Sunday afternoon football? Seriously, give me a break.

If you can't appreciate this world series, then you're not a baseball fan, you're a home run fan (or just a bandwagon Red Sox/Yankees/*insert winner of the moment here* fan). It's pretty refreshing to see managerial decisions besides "do I take Pedro out" and "do I bring Rivera in already" play a role in the outcome of the game. If it wasn't for the little side soap opera thing, Red Sox vs. Yankees would be just as boring as Rangers vs. Orioles.

Another refreshing result of having the Yankees not go to the World Series every single year is that it provides the opportunity for baseball to brag about stuff like this:

Over the last four World Series, eight different teams have shown up (Astros, White Sox, Red Sox, Cardinals, Marlins, Yankees, Angels, Giants).

So how long has it been since that paragon of competitive balance -- the NFL -- managed to put eight different teams into four consecutive Super Bowls?

How about 1985-88? (Please rush some smelling salts to Paul Tagliabue's office.)

Since then (starting with '88), only nine different franchises have won a Super Bowl. But we're guaranteed that, once this World Series is over, 11 different franchises will have won a World Series in the same time frame.

So which sport has the competitive-balance problem again?

I love this years world series, 2 great teams, 2 great pitching staffs, solid lineups but no superstars.

That said I would still like to flip to a football game during commercials.

......probably doesnt matter since I'll be all banged up from the Eagles game.

I don't like when there isn't one either, but I'm going to see Paul McCartney tonight so it doesn't matter this year.

Yes, but if you arent a "true" baseball fan then there is nothing to watch on tv. I am a Yankees fan, and will watch every game the Yanks play in, but I dont have any interest in watching two teams I dont care about. But with football, I can watch a game with two random teams. After all, I watched the entire San Fran vs Arizona game a few weeks ago. The bottom line is, if you dont like baseball, you have no other sports option.

Say no more!

And I suppose the torture of what could have been, with Andy and Roger pitching for the 'Stros must be hard to take. I understand. ;)

no doubt... even if the Birds had made the world series i would still like to be able to flip over now-and-again to a sport that has constant action...

that, and being a disgrunteld cardinal fan, i have no desire to even watch the world series... it's kind of like watching your mom being tortured
