From the network that has Chris Berman, Jim Rome, Stuart Scott and Stephen A. Smith comes something even worse...

Has anyone seen these simulated baseball press conferences? They are probably the lamest things I have ever seen. If you haven't. a few ESPN employees are mixed in among a few "extras" that are supposed to be members of the press waiting for a press conference from the GM of a certain team. Steve Phillips (former Mets GM) plays the GM and fields questions from the ESPN reporters while the extras are just there to raise their hands and pretend they are trying to get his attention.

I understand the point of addressing each team's offseason needs, but why do it in such a FUCKING LAME format? Why does everything they do have to be a gimmick? I hate ESPN.

You got that right NothingBetterman! I saw these fake press conferences on Sportscenter the other night. How stupid and lame indeed. At this rate ESPN doesn't have to worry about any competition anytime soon cause they'll soon kill themselves.

im not sure what you guys are talking about, is this like a show they are doing, or are they just like goofy commercials or somehitng like that?

Its a part of Sports Center. I saw it the other night and it was a simulated Astro's Press Conference. Its just really dumb and a way for them to fill up their programming. I hope the idea dies down soon so we dont have to deal with a whole winter of this crap.

I love Jim Rome and Colin Cowherd. I think ESPN is much, MUCH better than FSN.

While the team-specific ones were lame, the all-MLB one was actually really informative, and I can see where they're coming from in wanting to do these. I didn't think they were that stupid.

I've read at least 5 different prominent newspapers that love the fake news conference. I thin it's the dumbest thing i've seen in awhile.
