My favorite wrestlers of the 80s should be killin' over, not my favorite wrestlers of today.

Eddie had a very rocky and shaky life, but he always came back from adversity and the bad times with a BIG VENGEANCE.

This is a sad day.

in his sleep, but there are no details yet. This sucks so bad, eddie always gave his all, and was one of the best in-ring wrestlers around. He will be missed.

Jesus. That's shocking. So freaking young.

I have to say though, I was a little unnerved when I saw him on TV recently, he was so huge. (I haven't followed wrestling in 10 years). He used to be stick thin.

You can't help but wonder if he was a heavy user of steroids.

It was probably like every other wrestler who dies, it was probably from a heart attack. He had big problems with alcohol and drugs in the 90's. It is really too bad, and it really seems like a wrestler dies every year.

i havent watched much lately, but its possible because in recent years WWE has gone from the totally fake liiking love taps with chairs(and other things) and went to a more ECW style of real hits, now i dont know if they use different types of chairs that wont cause to much damage, but they nail each other with them

Probably complications with steroid cycling, leading to cardiovascular problems. Couple that with other recreational drugs and bad habits, and this happens. Happens far too often. I hate to say it, but it doesn't surprise me in the least.

What's the count now:

Yoko
Mr Perfect
Davey Boy Smith
Rick Rude
Brian Pillman
Bossman
Miss Elizabeth
Owen Hart

All gone before their time. And I'm sure I've missed a whole bunch.

This is one hell of a cursed business.

According to PWTorch, Eddie Guerrero had breakfast this morning with Chavo Guerrero and at least one other wrestler, then returned to his hotel room. When he didn't come out of his room in the expected amount of time, friends went looking for him and found him dead.

Guerrero has a long history of battling pain pill addiction, a struggle that was chronicled in a UPN special last year which is now on DVD. There is no firm confirmation, though, at this time, that his death was related to his lifelong battle.

Eddies official website, Eddicts.com has changed to a tribute page.

Additionally, WCCO in Minneapolis has posted a report on Eddie's death.

Tapings Tonight Changed To Tributes
Posted By Dan Hevia on 11.13.2005

Workers stunned
Dave Scherer reports the following:

As I am sure you will all understand, the reaction to Eddie Guerrero's sudden passing has blindsided everyone I talked to in WWE this morning. The workers I have spoken to about it are just numb and shocked.

The word I have gotten is that the company has decided to make both the Raw and Smackdown shows at tonight's combined taping in Minneapolis tribute shows to Eddie. The usual format for the shows has been changed to instead incorporate tributes to Eddie.

Additionally, you can read Dave's personal comments here.

Guerrero Update
Posted By Dan Hevia on 11.13.2005

Collapsed in bathroom
Eddie Guerrero was found in his hotel room in Minneapolis with his toothbrush in his mouth. He apparently died while brushing his teeth. At this point, the belief among WWE personnel is that Guerrero died of heart failure.

Shortly after Guerrero's body was found and removed from the room, Chris Benoit, Rey Mysterio, Dean Malenko and Chavo Guerrero visited the hotel room to say their goodbyes. WWE wrestlers and staffers were visibly shaken and emotional while leaving the hotel to go the Target Center, the site of tonight's Raw/Smackdown taping. Word from WWE sources is that the tenor of tonight's taping will be dramatically different and that the Smackdown show will need to be revised.

Tragic Loss

WWE is deeply saddened by the news that Eddie Guerrero passed away this morning in Minneapolis. Continue...

Also, take a look back at the storied career of Eddie Guerrero.

I thought that said "steroid career" when I first read it. :?
