The only 2 I've tried were Partypoker and Pacific Poker. I have never had a problem with Partypoker other than you get into hands that seem very "setup" for bad beats.
I wouldn't recommend Pacific because their site constantly has bugs and technical problems. Probably once every 2 games I'd have some kind of problem and they'd have to reimburse me. Never once had any similar problems with Partypoker.
The negative about partypoker is that its so crowded.

i've been with partypoker for about 2 years now... it offers the most multi-tourneys out there, so that's probably why i have stuck with it through all of the incredibly bad beats... that's the thing about partypoker, it just seems that there are more bad beats than the other sites (from what ive heard)... i have a buddy that switched from partypoker to pacific poker due to the bad beats, and he's a lot happier there... me? i'm staying with partypoker

A friend of mine went to a local bank and set up a free checking account that he uses for online poker and gambling. I am just not real comfortable with giving them my credit card number. With the special checking acccount if it gets ripped off (hacked or whatever) at least I would only have a hundred (or so) in there just for my poker account. I think he uses "netteller" with this checking account.
How do most of you set up your financial accounts?

Thanks for the input on the best site.
i wire transfer... i know it costs about a 10% fee to do so... but it's risk-free for the most part (as far as i can tell)... and then when you get money from them, they just send a check
I've been playing at pokerroom.com. It runs through a java applet, so there's no software to download and it will run on my Mac. I haven't tried playing for real money yet.

I play with partypoker and i haven't had any problems. Honestly I think the bad beats that get talked up on pp are just because the whole on-line experience is so much faster, thus leading to quicker hands and more potential for bad beats. I played in a big tournament last night, 390 players, and finished in the top 10. Earned a spot in an upcoming quarter-million tournament gratis, which is the equivalent to winning $215.

When i started playing it was at pokerroom.com but that place was pretty welfare. I've been at partypoker and pokerstars for a couple of years now and they both do a pretty good job. The bank transfers are great and easy. It takes a bit longer for partypoker to put money in my account and i have had some problems with them in the past over cashouts. However, you can play for any amount at any time there cause there are so many people playing. pokerstars seems friendlier though and they constantly give me re-up bonuses.
