Don't know of anyone cares but going into today there are 272 players left in the world series of poker and Raymer (2004 winner) is in 2nd place. incredible.

I just got word that there are 188 players left and Raymer is in 1st with a million in chips. This would be the most incredible feat in the history of poker if he pulls of back to back wins with over 5,000 people entered

That is just insane. It was impressive what some of the more famous players did in the past, but if Raymer can take it two years in a row considering how large the fields are, well shit. The guy is either the smartest guy in the world or the luckiest.

Probably a lot of both. From what i read Raymer is the real deal. The last i time i went to Foxwoods a lot of the dealers there said that Raymer is one of the better players that plays there.

Way to go, Raymer.
The only time I've watched an entire game with him at the table was the Tournament of Champions, and while he started off very strong at the beginning, he got torn apart in the middle.

I love watching those ESPN WSOP commericials knowing half of the players they feature were knocked out the first day. I don't think Negraneau made a final table the entire tournament.
