absolutely not. judge jeter and a-rod on all their postseason history and you'll still find a-rod is better.

i suppose their postseason numbers are somewhat similar, actually. i was mind-referencing almost every other stat that differentiates the two.

by the way, jesus, jeter has nearly a season's worth of at-bats in his postseason career alone.

stats do not equate with clutch

When I think clutch I think down one runner on second two outs.
If a player goes 1 for 5 he could have been clutch in that one at bat.

That same player could have gone 3 for 4 and choked when his team needed a clutch hit.

I guess I really don't see the point of this thread.

career OPS with runners in scoring position and 2 outs:

jeter: .866
a-rod: .890

Before the 2007 playoffs Jeter had a .314 average, 17 HR's and 48 RBI's in the playoffs and has 150 postseason hits. An all time record. Not to mention some nice plays at SS.

Guy's totally clutch.

his 490 at bats in the playoffs also happens to be an all-time record.

which is a lifetime playoff average over .300 in almost a season full of at-bats. Not too shabby.

saying gay-rod is better in the postseason than jeter is just plain silly, mmkay.

not shabby at all, but i'm not sure how it equates to him being 'clutch.'
