Am I the only one on this forum that likes his articles?

Sure, the stuff about travel, coffee, etc., is stupid, but it's easy enough to skim past those sections. Besides that, he says several things that are outside the realm of the average sportswriter.

I also like that he and Charlie Casserly are trying to end Mort's monopoly on the insider news on the major networks.

he's awful.

He's pretty much the worst of the current crop of "so and so had a good game yesterday so I must completely overrate them" journalists working today.

When he's simply reporting a story, he's ok. After all, it's pretty hard to fuck up a profile of a professinal athlete. But his opinions suck.

The funny thing about most sportswriters is they went to college to learn about writing, not sports.

Yet they act as though they know more about sports, when really, they just know more about writing.

you're not the only one. Though King's writing can grate me at times, I still enjoy hearing about Sunday's games in his MMQB column.

King's columns can be insightful. the non-football stuff I skip.

He's best when he doesn't glorify the game, just write about the facts.

Last year, he touted Colts-Steelers playoff game like it was the best game ever. It was a dramatic finish, but the entire game was not great.

While I usually don't mind his articles (and read them every Monday morning), I do think that he could do more without his personal opinions that he attempts to interject in connection with topics about which he has no clue. Also, Ricardo's right . . . the guy doesn't even watch the games, yet seems to write as an authority when it comes to commenting on them.

Also, he's one of more hypocritical writers out there when it comes to certain subjects. For instance, he began this year's first pre-season column by going on and on about how TO would keep his mouth shut if the media would just stop reporting about him, but then proceeded to begin the next 5 column about . . . TO.

I've liked him for a long time, but my enjoyment has steadily decreased over the last year. He's right maybe 8% of the time about the stuff he talks about, overreacts each week (like the rest of the media), and the best parts of his columns are the stuff about his addiction to egg nog lattes and Amtrak.

He used to come on sports radio here in Buffalo every Tuesday, but had to bow out this season because of his NBC commitments. Don Banks from SI replaced him and he's great. I like him a lot more than King, and he does a dynamite King impression.

I think King used to be better, but he's not that far off from them now.

Jaws usually knows his shit.

The only time where he strays is any time that Dick Vermeil is mentioned. He can do nothing but give utter praise to that man.

I remember last year during the Broncos/Chiefs Monday Night game that he was so certain in Vermeil that he held up a "Playbook to the Chiefs' Super Bowl Victory" he made. Of course, the Broncos kicked the shit out of the Chiefs that night.

Nope, I was gonna bring it up, but I knew the dumbass response would be "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I MEANT BY THE ******."

If you're gonna be a bigot, at least stand behind your bullshit.

I like Jaws because he is a X's and O's guy and you usually learn something after listening to him. He watches hours and hours of game tape every week so I value his opinion more than someone like Peter King who thinks he knows it all.

I read King every week and enjoy it, this season he has really bothered me with his obsession with Brees, Romo and TO. He also tends to give alot of time to to subjects like coordinators and GM's who he likes which doesn't really interest me. I actually like his non-football stories.

Yes, Stuart Scott is a dumb, annoying something.

I think he's a good writer, but I don't think he has a very good grasp of sports and hides this lack of intuition with an overblown opinion on an endless number of sport related stories.
