I think you have to go with Peyton. I understand the case for Palmer and Brady, but Manning is the best player and key component on what is clearly the best team in the leauge. The national media is giving Tiki Barber all kinds of publicity for the award, but let's not get crazy, if any RB deserves the award, it's Tomlinson or Alexander.

well, Gates and Brees are having great years, but Tiki isn't exactly the only offensive weapon on the Giants. Shockey and Plex are having good years as well. Eli has been very inconsistent...so I guess you can argue that Barber has had great success in spite of that - and his success is more impressive as a result.

Where would the Pats and/or the Giants be without Brady/Barber? You can make the argument in Indy that the defense's turn around is the reason they are so good this year. In Seattle, Alexander has been great but so hasn't Hasselbeck and their defense. I'm not sold on Palmer as MVP this year.
Remember too that Brady has more passing yards than Manning and has had to deal with major injuries to his 1 and 2 RB, starting center, starting left tackle, back up left tackle, both TEs, 1 WR and yet the Pat are still 9-5.

I agree with all of that, but what has Palmer not shown you this season?
All that said, Brady freaking carried that team BIG time. Yeah 3 rings ho hum, he flat blew that "it's the system" bullshit out of the water this year, they SHRED cover 2 defense. Enough with he dosesn't have weapons though Givens and company run Perfect routes and the ball is there every time. Ben Watson and Daniel Graham are both pro bowl quality tight ends and then it's pretty impressive they still got it done with both running backs out.
Still given the numbers he's put up it's tough not to give it to Alexander, he's at least MVP of the NFC.

if you're going to bring that up, then I can bring up the fact that Manning has thrown for more TD's, less INT's, and for a better %. Oh, and he's 13-1, and he went into N.E. and killed the Pats.
and where were the Colts be if Jim Sorgi were at QB?

I don't dispute the inherant value of Manning, but Edge has been easily as important to the Colts as Peytons consistant excellence.

It's honorable mention , if you look at Dunns overall numbers he deserves some credit, plus, with Michael Vick looking good in some games and struggling in others TJ Duckett out and then overall garbage Warrick Dunn has been consistantly excellent every game all year. The Falcons would not have 6 wins without him. He's the only single player on the team that truely deserves a little credit in that arena but no he's not in the league of the top 5. If they never ran Duckett he'd have 12 -14 TD's. He's the Lions share of the reason why they lead the league in rushing, the other part of the VD (ha ha) has not been that good or consistant all year.

If they still had edge, those receivers, and that improved defense (and the same schedule), they will probably still have 10-11 wins. Remember, there have been a few games this year were the defense has outshone the offense.
