The HDTV commercial with the Cal-Stanford re-enactment on an electric football board. Pure genius. I hope whoever thought this up got a huge raise.

This deserves its own thread, though.

Exactly why I made one. I searched for a general commercial thread, but only found ones relating to specific commercials. Thus, I created what we have here.

Can we talk about other ads in this thread too?

I think the (I think it's Gatorade) ad where they show the clips of the famous great plays (Jordan against the Cavs, Jeter in the play at the plate against the A's) except they edit them so that they just miss the play, that commercial is brilliant. Really clean CG, you can barely tell it's not real.

theres a few car commercials out there that are brilliant

dodge has one where the lady and her daughter pick up the guy whos motorcycle runs out of gas, she and he get the bike put in the back of the van, she turns around and says to the little girl in such a dripping sarcastic way that i almost popped a woody, "daddy just had to have a motorcycle...didnt he"

and i believe its a nissan commericial where the truck is coming down a hill and up another, where the one guy who is filming it is like, wow, look up there, is that a meteor. and the meteor hits the truck and explodes, but the truck keeps on going

Seeing Dwight Clark drop the catch and watching Everson Walls put his hands up instead of that 49er bastard was so sweet.

I love the new BK commercial with the King CGI'd in for Steve Young and his run against the Vikings.

I still laugh everytime at the Peyton Manning D-CAF commercial.

Did anyone else see the NFL commercial they ran during the games where they had people talking about things where the exact opposite happened? They had a guy talking about how the Bears would be lucky to win 3 games this year and how Minnesota was the team to beat. They also had some guy on a couch plucking a banjo that says to his friend something about how Drew Rosenhouse sure was good for his clients. I thought it was funny, but weird coming from the NFL.

Yeah, I saw it. Didn't they have one last year where a guy in a Pats jersey talked about how Roesthelisenskdnasberger wouldn't amount to anything?

There was an old commercial back in 1997, when the Broncos and Chiefs were duking it out bigtime that year. It was for a video game system, I believe. Someone on the Chiefs' staff is carrying the team's offensive playbook in a metal briefcase. He goes through all these elaborate security checks to place the briefcase in a safe.

After he closes the safe, we then see that two of the Broncos defensive players are hanging from the ceiling, and they give each other a big smile. (John Mobley was one of them--I forgot who the other one was).

That was a good one.
