Post subject: NFC Championship Game: Panthers at Seahawks

I don't think that any team has made it to the Super Bowl playing entirely on the road, but the Panthers look like they have a good chance to be the first one to do it.

I'm really liking the Seahawks' chances. Should be a great game.

I think Peppers being out is a bigger loss. Hell, Alexander puts up MVP-like numbers and the Seahawks still seem unsure about paying him enough to resign him. Makes me think if his own team doesn't really care, they might know something everyone else doesn't.

This is what makes no sense to me. That concussions are treated as a "shake it off" type injury. Maybe when he can't remember his children's names down the line he'll wish he took another week off.

I'm thinking that if the Bears offense could score the most points in weeks against the Panthers, without much of a running attack, the Seahawks should be able to move the ball pretty well. Especially with Jackson, Engram, and Jurivicious. But I'm pretty biased, so maybe it's just false hope.
I do know that their special teams really scared me last week.

I think there's more to Alexander's contract status than this. Hasselbeck, Walter Jones, and Alexander were all free agents this past off season. The Seahawks locked up the first two for long term deals, but weren't able to come to terms with Alexander before the season started. They agreed to franchise him for one season, with the hopes of signing him to an extension during, or after, this season. Seattle fans were pretty sure they were going to go into the season with only two of the three (at best), so the fact that they got all three for this season was a bonus. Every indication is that both sides want to reach an agreement, but the Seahawks would be idiots not to consider his age (and the historical drop off in running backs over 30) before signing him to the huge contract he's after. In hindsight, they probably should have tried a little harder before this season.

i wish this was the super bowl. i'm going to be cheering for the panthers, but if the seahawks win, i hope they win it all.
