Mayweather is getting the largest guaranteed purse in boxing history for the Cotto fight, $32m plus he gets PPV money. That's pretty insane given he's only fighting Cotto.

I'd love for Cotto to pull the upset, but I just don't see it happening. It'll be interesting to see if Floyd has slowed down significantly. Dude's getting old.

You don't have to like Mayweather, but the dude can certainly box...

Another notch in the win column!

Great fight, had a blast watching it.

Props to Shane and Cotto for being warriors. Floyd's the master, though.

The Lamont Peterson-Amir Khan rematch is probably not happening. Lamont Peterson failed a pre-fight drug test and has admitted to using testosterone pellets before the first fight with Khan.

It's like these guys actually want to turn every last fan away from the sport. They're doing a great job at it.

The funny part about it is both Berto and Peterson insisted on pre-fight testing, and they both failed.

I'm not saying Floyd is right about Pacquiao, but even if he brought it up for the wrong reasons, he's got a good point about testing.

Anyway, apparently Kessler knocked the shit out of Green. Haven't seen it, though.

This is terrible.

Quote:
Paul Williams paralyzed after crash

Updated: May 28, 2012, 7:01 PM ET
By Dan Rafael | ESPN.com

ATLANTA -- Boxer Paul Williams was paralyzed from the waist down Sunday after being involved in a motorcycle crash in the Atlanta suburbs and doctors said it is unlikely he will continue his career, his manager, George Peterson, said Monday.

"From the waist down, he has absolutely no movement. He's in very good spirits, though," Peterson told The Associated Press from his home in Aiken, S.C. "He still believes he's going to fight again."

Williams severed his spinal cord after falling on his back and head when he was thrown from his motorcycle Sunday morning in Marietta, Ga., Peterson said. Williams has been listed in serious but stable condition on Monday at an undisclosed hospital.

"I know he's going to make a statement after surgery on Wednesday, because he's that kind of person," Peterson said. "He's 100 percent coherent and still has the will to want to get back on the motorcycle."

Williams was scheduled to fight Saul Alvarez on Sept. 15 in Las Vegas but that event has been canceled, Peterson said.

He said he continues to hope with Williams that the boxer's career isn't over.

"I want to think along with him, 'cause I've seen him do things in his boxing career that shouldn't have happened," he said.

The crash happened Sunday morning in Marietta after Williams tried to avoid another car in the next lane that was negotiating a curve and then had to maneuver to avoid an oncoming car. Williams was in the area to attend his brother's wedding Sunday afternoon, Peterson said.

"We want his fans to know he's going to be all right and he'll be back," Peterson said. "He said if he wasn't going to be boxing, he's going to be a stand-up comedian."

It's amazing how ok Manny was with the whole losing thing. Maybe it's his religious rebirth, or maybe it's because as long as you get a rematch and another few dozen million in the bank, who cares about losing, right? Not to mention the fringe benefit of avoiding the Floyd fight.

Sickening. Fuck you, Arum.
