If Milan plays like they played at San Siro against United, Liverpool doesn’t stand a chance. If they do not get at that level, I can see Benitez pull off another tactical checkmate here.

Liverpool defence:

My biggest curiosity is that I haven’t seen Liverpool play against a team with lots of creativity up front. Against Barcelona, Messi, Eto’o and Ronaldinho were half injured and completely out of form. Put strong man marking on them and they were out. PSV… well… that was PSV. And Chelski have been mostly about throwing balls at Drogba all season. All credit to Liverpool, but that’s not all too hard to defend on. The two centre backs will have their hands full with Inzaghi or Gilardino. But they should be able to cope with that. The deciding battle will be fought in midfield.

Liverpool midfield:

I’m pretty curious how they will cope with a super in form Kaka & Seedorf. Mascherano probably will need to play his best game ever. Don’t get me wrong, I think he can do it, but my god, is he up for a big task, cause he doesn’t only need to keep an eye on Kaka who is better than anyone in the world at finding the space between defence and midfield. He’s also up against Seedorf and Pirlo. In my opinion, playing Gerrard on the right or leaving Xabi Alonso on the bench would be a bad decision. I think you need them all 3 (with Masch) on top of their game against Seedorf, Pirlo and Kaka. But hey, Benitez is the mastermind, not me.

Liverpool attack:

I can’t see Liverpool score through the centre in the first 75 minutes of the game. I think you need Gerrard in the centre of midfield, but I don’t think he’ll decide this game. Ambrosini and Gattuso will block him out. And if they don’t Nesta & Maldini will do the job. I think Liverpool should start with Pennant & Zenden on the wings and Crouch or Kuyt alone up front. Try with crosses, like United (Ronaldo) scored the first goal at Old Trafford. At the end of the game or in extra time, you can use the speed of Kewell and/or Bellamy against a tiring and old defence and try putting balls deep, behind their defence, like the 2 Rooney goals at Old Trafford.

That’s pretty much my take on the final.

First prediction if Milan plays like at San Siro:

3-0 for Milan. Liverpool totally outclassed and outplayed.

Second prediction:

1-0 or 2-1 for Liverpool after extra time

And I’m going to miss the entire first half and 15 minutes of the second because I’ll be playing football myself goddammit.

Liverpool to win on pens after a dire match. After the amazing match they had two years ago, it's ten to penny that this one will be shit...

Liverpool 2-1 Milan

With Fowler scoring the winner, surely a fairytale like that couldn't happen could it?

you know, this is a recurring theme with blues - for some reason they have this big love-in with liverpool, yet claim to be the mancunian team

haha...only an excuse to use the cop icon as well.

Seriously, though - this love-in with the scousers, what gives?

I think it's reciprocated as well - didn't they try not to score against city a few years ago and kept telling them to play for time and keep the ball so as not to relegate them?

2-0 Milan. I'll be up in 6 hrs time and it better be a good game if i'm gonna suffer like a zombie through the rest of the working day.

   No tickets unfortunately, I'll see the game from TV. It is a horrible feeling to know that this big game is 2-3 metro stations from your hometown and you can't go    They gave only 9000 tickets through the internet and after a lottery. The other tickets are for the teams and for the sponsors. But what makes me more angry is that all the useless "VIPS" of this country, who many of them have no idea of football will be there...anyway :x :x :x :x

My hopes and bets for Liverpool, I dislike the Italian clubs (except AS Roma). I think that the team which will score first will get the win. Milan will not let Liverpool AGAIN to do what it did 2 years ago. It will be more careful.

One of my mates is a liverpool fan and we both tend to get lots of stick from all our other mates who are Utd fans so we always tend to stick together.

They actually relegated us ages ago i think (I believe it was 1996), we needed to win we were drawing 1-1 we had a goal disallowed or just cleared off the line, I can't remember clearly, it was a long long time ago...

...hmm maybe I should be supporting Milan tonight....

What the hell happened to Robbie Fowler? Remember back in the mid 90s? He was so good but then he really fell off the radar.

He went to play for city. That's where it went wrong.

On another note:

Imagine if your name is Craig Bellamy and you’re on the bench with Fowler and as Liverpool are trailing 1-0, Benitez comes and asks Robbie to get ready cause he’s coming on. Aaaaauuuuuw.
