Looks like Jim Leland is going to be named Tigers' manager today. That didn't take long. I like the move -- I only hope he realizes what he's getting himself into . . .

I love the quote i heard on ESPN radio the nite after being hired as something to the effect of, "I'm the first one to tell ya I don't anything about the American League, but I'm sure I'll learn."

The Giants special teams are fired. This is downright pathetic.

More like "hilarious"! The Queens have no offense and are terrible on the road. The Giants are not quite Super Bowl caliber yet if they can't beat the Sex Cruisers at home.

Ditto for the Chiefs' STs on coverage.

Considering the layoffs will save $6 billion a year...
Considering those VP's and Execs are at one of the largest companies in the world....

If you work in an auto plant in 2005, you better count your days and train yourself to do something else. The gravy train that was US manufacturing is crumbling beneath you.

Rumors are that Mooch could make it to this thread:

http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar ... SPORTS0101

His Harrington/Garcia indecision has been stupid, but is firing him really the answer? Matt Millen seems like a bigger culprit.

If he does get the boot, he should be snapped up quickly as a coordinator.

Doesn't he run the Lions offense? He's been nothing short of god-awful in his 2 1/2 years there.

But has he had the complete talent to be anything better? For example, as far back as the draft I remember you saying that they needed an offensive line when they drafted Mike Williams. Watching them yesterday, this was highly evident, especially when Butler went out. Kerney and Co. were all the place.

Yes, they need a line. Yes, Mooch also needs to make adjustments with playcalls, not just shuffle players around hoping something clicks.
Surely you can't defend his random use of Kevin Jones, and his completely terrible QB management this season.

I have not been impressed with Mooch this year. He's looked completely inept at times. I don't know that I'd fire him, but I can definitely understand why the Lions would make that choice.

He's also looked like he wants to kill himself during every press conference I've seen this year, whether they won or lost. Not very inspiring.

To be honest, if I was head coach of the Lions, I'd probably want to kill myself, too.
