yeah he's only got 1 swing, can't hit good pitching and really becomes exposed when they play him too much

going into Yankee stadium for the 2003 ALCS with Kapler as our starting centerfielder/leadoff man wasn't exactly sweet

He may have not been the greatest starter, but he is one hell of a backup. I wish him well in Japan.

Kaplan is a weight trainer or lifts weights.

He would suck at weightlifting much like he does at baseball!

i was getting sick of all the ladies saying how cute he was

this is baseball... cute should not be in the vocabulary

i had to sit through game 5 against the yankees listening to some broad talk about his cuteness

gabe kapler was magnificent, i dont think anyone else could manage freddy "boom boom" washington, epstein, arnold horseshack or vinnie barbarino.

that was one cohesive unit to say the least, and on top of that to put up with mr woodman all the time, truly remarkable

I wish Dave the best of luck. He was one of the lesser known parts of our amazing team this year, and I hope he and his family are very happy with their new surroundings.

An explanation:
At some point during the 2003 ALCS, Kapler was up in a big spot late in the game. A few of my friends were at a bar watching the game and were all pretty drunk. One guy, Ony, began to bellow at the television set, screaming: "COME ON DAVE KAPLER! THIS IS HUGE! COME ON DAVE!!!" Everyone corrected him, pointing out that it's Gabe Kapler and Dave McCarty. Ony knew this but in his drunken haze he kept insisting that it was Dave Kapler. So since then we have affectionally called him Dave.

So, good luck Dave, where ever you go. Sholom!
