Even more ridiculous is the preseason "awards" that conferences and the NCAA give to players. Like "preseason all conference", "preseason rookie of the year", "preseason MVP". So fucking dumb. preseason rookie of the year, before they play a single second.

i agree... the polls look somewhat strange this year... we'll see how it all shakes out though... of course, the teams you arent too happy with will probably stay in the polls all year long because their conferences suck
My picks are with Texas with Daniel Gibson and LeMarcus Aldridge and UConn with Boone and Rudy Gay. I don't know why Duke are number one? Sheldon Williams is an ok player, but there a better out there... and Josh McRoberts would have to have a massive Freshman year... and JJ Reddick is the most overrated college player in the NCAA.

I'm looking forward to Texas sucking again this year, and I'm very hopeful that A&M can finally get back to the big one (albeit probably lose in the first round, but you've got to start somewhere )

you're crazy... as much as it pains me to say it, Duke is the head of the class this year

What do they have that UConn don't? There is no one in the NCAA as athletic as Rudy Gay... and I will make a prediction he WILL have a breakout year; and he will be the number 1 pick this season in the NBA draft. Sheldon Williams? He's a Power Forward who beats his opponents with his greater athletisism. With McRoberts in the side, and presumably playing the prime PF position, Williams will have to move to the 3; and there are many players AS athletic as Williams. And McRoberts? Unless he can pull a Loul Deng (which I must admit, is extremely possible) he won't be ready to do what Duke needs him to be in his Freshman season. Lets not forget Josh Boone, who will be and is a rebounding machine and Marcus Williams will be the perfect fit at the point with Gay and Boone on his side; quite possibly the best passing point guard in the NCAA this season. And, I'm not going to start on how overrated JJ Reddick is. UConn have the experienced players over the Duke squad THAT is why I would personally rank them higher than Duke.
