If the reports were true, Young's draft stock stands to be significantly affected, especially with Cutler continuing to skyrocket up most teams' draft boards. When I asked one scout from the AFC if he thought Young would still be a top-five draft pick if the rumor turns out to be true, he answered, "Sure … as a wide receiver, though."
This was in John Clayton's article on ESPN.com. This is kind of how I've felt about Young all along. I would draft him with the number one overall pick if he agreed to play WR, he would be a lot like Terrell Owens playing WR, with his speed, size and athleticism he would be unstoppable in the open field. Lining up behind center, reading defenses and trying to get the ball to guys that are worse athletes than himself is a dumb idea.
This was my quote from 2 years ago.
And it's still wrong.
Maybe I should re post this every two years. Anyway, the Titans are finished with him. Wonder who else will be desperate enough to try to continue letting him try to be a QB?
Anybody still think I was wrong?

Personally, I could give a shit about his NFL career. He will forever be one of the best "football" players in my mind for shutting all the Pac-10/USC fans the hell up. One of my best memories is walking the Santa Monica pier in my Longhorns T-shirt the day after the national championship game.
I live out west and get sick of all the Pac-10/12 complaining about not being respected. It's because the Pac-10/12 sucks!!!!!

Vince Young would not have made a good WR. Much of his problem related to work ethic and confidence and switching to another (difficult to play) position would have just made this worse. Guys with better athleticism than Vince who played WR for 5+ years before being drafted have had trouble making it, what makes you think he could just pick it up and succeed? For every Antwaan Randle-El there's an Armanti Edwards.

Because it was really his only other option. He wasn't going to make it as a QB and switching to WR as a rookie would have given him time to learn the position. Now he is a 2nd or 3rd string QB and will probably be out of the NFL in a couple years.
