anyone get left out (Joakim Noah/LaMarcus Aldridge)?... anyone not deserve their spot (Dee Brown)?
Dee Brown definitely deserves that spot. He's one of the best pure point guards in a major conference who can manage a game, pass, and score. He single-handedly won three games for Illinois this year by scoring 25 or more points. He's damn good, considering he's only about 4 foot 2.

Do you disagree?
he's solid, but he is one of the streakiest shooters that i've ever known... he'll shoot 45% from 3pt range for a 4-game stretch, and then turn around and shoot 19% for the next 4 games... but he's a hell of a leader, and he gets his team energized when they need it.... though Brian Randle may have been the MVP of the Illini this season imo... Dee didnt do as much as i thought he would after losing 2 starters to the first round of the NBA Draft... i figured he'd easily average close to 20ppg and he wound up at just 14.4, and not for lack of field goal attempts (though the 5.4 apg are nice)... i'd possibly put him near the bottom of the second team, but more than likely at the top of the 3rd team... he actually wound up 6th in voting... i think his 2nd team status was helped by his performance in the '04-'05 season, and that shouldnt factor in

Here's a silly question--why did the term "All-American" get assigned to this group of people? What does being American have to do with being an outstanding athlete?

thats exactly what i thought of when i heard he was 2nd team. having watched about 80% the illini's games this year, i hope to god that there are more than just 5 players better than him in the country.

Mike Gansey should have been up there, Aldridge should have been there. Rudy Gay wouldn't make my 5th team, most overrated player ever.
i was not impressed with Gay
who do you get rid of if you add Gansey and Aldridge?
Gay and .....
Perhaps if Gay gave a shit and played for 40 minutes a game, instead of yawning in a regional final and showing up for spurts of 5 minutes, he would be more impressive.
And why don't they take post-season into consideration?

so true... looking at his numbers (15.3ppg/6.7rpg/1.7bpg/1.8spg) im quite impressed, but after seeing him in the tourney, what a joke
