When I was a kid growing up in Atlanta I was a huge f a n.
We moved to Birmigham in the early 80's and he was to be a t a local mall signing autographs. We waited (my dad and I) for hours and then the store announced he wasn't going to make it. I was very disappointed. Still haven't met the man.
Congrats to you. Thanks for making Bball in Atlanta exciting for a few years anyway.
(On a side not I met Tree Rollins when I was like 6 years old. The biggest man I have ever seen.)

he was awesome to watch, too bad they never surrounded him with a better supporting cast but i was happy to have the C's winning the east every year back then. He got hosed in that slam dunk contest against Jordan, but what fun that was to watch.

I once had floor seats for a nuggets game back in the early 90s and he raced for a ball going out of bounds and fell on top of me and elbowed me in the face

That is what I remember most about him. I have it on tape somewhere but I at the time I was so mad that he didn't win. The Knicks had his bro Gerald who wasn't a bad dunker himself.

I remember when Gerald dunked over the chair at the contest one of those years. He was a pretty good player - and actually had some success guarding MJ in the early 90's
