This is what I think of when I hear the name Dan Marino.

I was lucky enough to witness Peyton Manning and Dan Marino play togeather on the same field when Indianapolis and Miami were both in the AFC East. I grew up hating Marino because of the divsion rivalry, but now that I look back at him the only reason I hated him was because he was so damn good.

Aikman was very good but but not even close to as good as Young or Marino. Aikman played behind arguably the best O-line ever put together and Dallas had a sick D throughout his career. They built a perfect system for him. He got the job done year after year but he isn't top 10 material, or top 20 in my opinion.

As much as I hated Aikman the player, he could throw the ball deep to Irvin or Harper and throw the ball short to the TE. Not alot of QB's had that type of accuracy short and long, well at least not in that era.

Brady reminds me of Aikman a lot. I know a lot of people mention Montana but i don't see it. I think Aikman deserves a bit more credit but i wouldn't put him in my top 5. Marino had more skills and has more records, Elway was king of the 2 minute drill and comebacks, Montana was flwless in big games, Favre is so gutsy and makes incredible plays, and although i never got to see Unitas i know enough about him reinventing the QB position. Plus you could throw Bradshaw, Young, Kelly and Star ahead of him. Also Vick

Now Bradshaw, there was a mildly above average QB who gets mentioned as one of the greats purely cause of his rings. Hell, he'd be the first to admit it, but he still has the rings so all he ever has to do is hold up his hand.

I can't believe people would compare Troy Aikman and Steve Young to Dan Marino. Like people have been saying the supporting casts on those teams were unbelievable, especially when you compare them to the Dolphins. Marino made throws and plays that no one made before him. Take the spike play versus the Jets. How many times has a qb just stepped up to the line and spiked it, but he thought of faking it. Hadnt been done before, hasnt been done since. Hands down the greatest quarter back ever.

Young, his stats speak for themselves, also big plus was that he wasn't afraid to run the ball. It was amazing to watch but ultimately cost him his career.

Young is often underrated. He was a fine QB with much talent!

Steve Young. Not only did he win 6 passing titles, a record at the time and maybe still, I don't know, but he had one of the greatest runs of all time as well. Sure, he had a great team around him, but those teams weren't as good as Montana's and he is mentioned over and over. Also, Montana didn't have to compete against the Cowboy dynasty year after year when he was winning titles. Young's Super Bowl performance against the Chargers is the best game any qb has ever played in the Super Bowl, and without Garrison Hearst's ankle injury in 98 I think it was, he would have had another shot at a title as well..

Although, to be honest, it was Bernie Kosar's idea. He'd mentioned it to the team and they went for it. Marino faked it brilliantly, but Kosar deserves the credit for coming up with the play.

I think Phil Simms 22-25 is the best superbowl qb performance of all-time.

I once gave Kenny Stabler a handjob at a rest stop in Elephant Butte, New Mexico, 1987.
