We started talking about it in the NFL thread, so I thought I would just have to start a poll for it.

The four that I added are the four I believe one could easily make an argument for. I don't think I'd ever be able to decide between them.

ESPN seems to agree with me:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=1930076

1. Montana
2. Unitas
3. Elway
4. Favre
5. Marino
6. Bradshaw
7. Baugh
8. Graham
9. Staubach
10. Tarkenton

as does The Sporting News's latest magazine entirely devoted to the subject:

1. Unitas
2. Montana
3. Graham
4. Elway
5. Baugh
6. Marino
7. Favre
8. Bradshaw
9. Staubach
10. Starr

from a purley statistical standpoint?

i dont think you can use number of victories etc to be a competent judge in this case, because the qbs dont have the same wide recievers, or offensive lines, rbs or defenses.

That's what I said. Based on the things I've heard about him (uh, like 200 consecutive starts, MVPs etc.) he seems to be pretty top notch.

Those 2 snaps he took as a Cowboy made him good again

yes, he is washed in the blood.
He may be replaced by Testeverde eventually, as the Testeverde legend continues to grow.

How does Marino, holder of all significant QB records, not rank in the top 3? Just because he's got no ring? That's silly.

The most gifted passer of the last 25 years. Too bad he's a loser. Oh he's starting for the Bears now, I heard.

if people actually saw Unitas play, then they would have chosen him without question... and there would be no need for further discussion

Dale Jarrett? Or was it Jeff Jarrett? Shit, I don't remember, but I think his last name was Jarrett. I remember it because he torched the Packers that day.
