pains me to do this.... Tim Tebow. He's better this year than last. I think personally there is no more outstanding player. I didn't believe this until the Alabama game but he basically is the reason Florida is even in the NCG discussion.

Bradford and McCoy have had virtually equal years in terms of number impressiveness. Those are my top 3 with Harrell just missing out. I think thier votes are split but I'm pulling for McCoy.

I think Crabtree had a better year last year though the catch and TD against Texas is probably the play of the year.

McCoy should win though, there is a pretty good case that he out Tebowed Tebow this year and he definately had less than Bradford to work with.

mccoy. he was better than tebow this year, without a doubt.

My case for Colt McCoy is as follows. Look at the talent on OU and Florida. The WRs are as good or better than the WRs at Texas, the RBs are much better than the ones at Texas, and each team has something that Colt McCoy hasn't had for 80% of the season: a good TE. Colt McCoy's production is amazing when you consider these factors. Add to this the facts that Bradford's numbers are inflated because he was left in games in the 4th when they were up by 20 and Tebow has already won it, and I think McCoy is more than deserving.

McCoy was just as important to his team than Tebow, if not moreso. He played against much better QBs in conference, but also much worse defenses as well. However, something that really sticks out to me is Florida losing at home and not being able to convert a 4th and 1 driving at the end. Colt did everything in his power to bring his team back in Lubbock in their only loss. I hate to discount Bradford for all the talent around him, but the difference is night and day in comparing the weapons at his disposal versus Colt. Colt had a great defense behind him and some other players step up big-time this year on offense (Shipley, Cosby), but his rushing numbers along with completion percentage give him the edge imo.

If Colt, Sam, or the dirt monkey (Tech) candidates don't win though, that's cool too. I hate all those teams pretty much equally.

Tebow already winning it is not an argument for him not to win it...but he won't win it anyway. mccoy is my pick for some of the reasons you listed above.

Well I think they are actually hesitant to give it to anyone twice with the multitude of great players today.

I like the argument for McCoy; I think he's definitely more deserving than Bradford. But Tebow fucking destroyed shit this weekend. Hopefully it'll be one of those two (Tebow or McCoy). I think they're the most deserving

yeah, probably. it's pretty impressive just to have 2 hesiman finalist type seasons in a row anyway.

you think tebow votes for himself?

It should go to McCoy, though I fear voters might be swooned by Stoops running up the score.

Tebow said earlier in the season that he was voting for McCoy, but he was probably bullshitting. You never know though, since Colt is a hardcore Christian and Tebow is into that sort of thing.

Honestly I'm still really pissed that Vince didn't win in '05, so they better not fuck up this time.

yea, i'm sure he's still crying about it somewhere. maybe he should have played better against lowly A&M that year.

it's a little ironic/odd, though, to read from horn fans regarding the talent differences between their team and anyone else. certainly will not be the case the next few year's though. they're still pretty young overall, so that might help clarify the talent argument.

The biggest thing to me was not having a tight end. It's hard to not have that check down option.

i'm with ya there, especially when you look at Bradford having Gresham to throw to all year. i remember seeing the injury to that one TE against Rice (i think?) and nearly puking.

Yep, Blaine Irby. I think he had caught multiple TDs before that happened as well. Kid's no slouch, hopefully he'll be in top form next year.

McCoy deserves it but I feel people will be swayed by Bradford's numbers. Should be a close vote however.
