Agreed -- when the number of Boston and Filly-related threads exceeds Detroit and Chicago-related threads by a mere 49 to 1, something needs to be done. Stupid winning traditions in Detroit and Chicago [waves fist].

ok tigers fans, shelton or granderson?
They're both pretty damned good prospects.
Shelton's minor league OPS was .963. He has a foot problem so his mobility is minimal, but who cares?
Granderson's OPS was .880, but he was WAY over league average in 04 in AA-Erie.
Both guys walk a lot, both hit for power. Throw em in a basket I say. Granderson should start in 06, and it looks like Shelton will at DH/1B as well.

*Looks bad in a uniform
but he looks bad in a uniform because he's ugly, so by extension..
but really, shelton has been great. he's not this great, and it'd be better if he was catching. signing pudge to that deal might not look as good in a year or two.

He's got plantar fascitis in his left foot, he can't be a full time catcher.
Quote:
Heel spur / plantar fasciitis affects men and women equally. It is a condition in which the bottom of the heel is extremely painful. A heel spur is a bony overgrowth on the bottom of your heel bone. The heel spur is usually a result of an inflamed ligament (plantar fascia) on the bottom of the foot that attaches to the heel bone. Constant abnormal pulling of this ligament irritates the heel bone and the body lays down a bone spur as a protective mechanism. The patient usually complains of pain with the first step in the morning, some relief following activity, but returning after extended amounts of time standing or walking.
He's best suited to full time DH and part time 1B with that gimp going on.
