I was so mad that they wrongly blew the whistle on this play that I didn't notice how hilariously horrible DHB was here. Putting that fast 40 time to work!
i remember watching that and just staring... like, literally staring and thinking "lol wat?"

i see what you did there
i looked at some mock drafts from this past april, i wish they had drafted crabtree at this point.
If it took him that long to sign with San Fran, what makes you think he would have ever signed with Oakland?
b/c the hold up was that he wanted to be paid like he was drafted at #7 (oak) not #10 (sf).
i would just love it if he was on such an awful team b/c he seems like such an awful person (its probably the people around him more than him, but such is life).
Raiders try to keep Michael Silver out Posted by Mike Florio on October 23, 2009 7:17 PM ET Several weeks ago, the Oakland Raiders expressed a desire to ban former Raiders quarterback Rich Gannon from the team's headquarters for production meetings in preparation for a game that Gannon would be broadcasting for CBS.
The team quickly relented, but Gannon ultimately didn't show, citing travel difficulties.
This time around, Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports encountered difficulty in obtaining a credential for Sunday's game between the Raiders and the Jets.
Silver tells us that a request was made on his behalf on October 18. Today, his editor was told that there will be not enough room in the press box.
Silver suspects that the team's position was motivated by his reporting on the Randy Hanson situation. Silver's most recent article includes Hanson's reaction to the decision of the Napa prosecutor to not charge Raiders coach Tom Cable for the incident that resulted in Hanson suffering a broken jaw.
The article was published Friday, and the response to Silver's request for access came after the article appeared at the Yahoo! web site.
Previously, Silver interviewed Hanson, who shared his version of the events with Silver, including an alleged threat from Cable that he would "kill" Hanson. After word emerged that the other assistants who witnessed the incident between Cable and Hanson had not corroborated Hanson's version, Hanson told Silver that he would take a lie detector test.
It's not the first time that Silver has been denied access by the Raiders.
"I was banned from the Raiders' facility on several occasions in the '90s," Silver told us via e-mail. "Once at Arrowhead Stadium the team prevented me from entering the visitors' locker room after a game. Al Davis was later fined $10,000."
This time around, Silver promptly solicited the assistance of the PFWA and the NFL. And Silver tells us that, after the league got involved, the Raiders relented.
Unlike Gannon, however, we suspect that Silver will show.
And if Raiders executive John Herrera is hanging around, the action in the press box could ultimately be as compelling as the stuff that happens on the field.
Our only hope is that no one falls down and, you know, breaks his jaw.
JETS 38, RAIDERS 0 Raiders own up to blame in shutout defeat All except one: QB Russell accepts no fault in big rout
David White, Chronicle Staff Writer
Monday, October 26, 2009
(10-25) 20:34 PDT -- The Raiders didn't play the game of football very well, but they were really good at playing the blame game after Sunday's 38-0 loss to the Jets.
They weren't blaming others. They wanted to blame themselves for all that went horribly awry at the Coliseum.
"Obviously we didn't do enough of a job during the week conveying the message of what we need to do to win," defensive end Richard Seymour said. "As one of the leaders on the team, I definitely take the responsibility."
The only player who refused to play along was the one player who got benched, and that's franchise quarterback JaMarcus Russell.
"I don't think it's me personally, I really don't," Russell said. "It's a bad combination of one guy doesn't do something right one time. Personally, I don't think so.
"Do you?"
Coach Tom Cable finally did. He sat Russell with 5:45 left in the first half, which was one sack-fumble and two interceptions too late to save a 21-0 game that had hopelessly spiraled away.
Russell was 6 of 11 for 61 yards and greatly booed by an announced crowd of 39,354, the smallest turnout since the Raiders returned from Los Angeles in 1995.
Backup quarterback Bruce Gradkowski was 10 of 19 for 97 yards and greatly cheered, and he didn't even put points on the board.
Russell, the No. 1 overall draft pick in 2007, will remain the starter next week at San Diego, Cable said. Throw more picks off his back foot, and a second benching is next.
"It comes down to making the plays that you're supposed to make at your position," Cable said.
Unlike Russell, everyone else said, in effect, "My bad."
Rookie receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey shouldered some blame. He doubled his season total with two catches for 28 yards, but dropped a fade route in the end zone late in the game.
"I've got to make that play," Heyward-Bey said.
Right tackle Khalif Barnes fell on his sword. He started at right tackle for the first time since college more than six years ago.
It showed on the first play of the game, when he let linebacker Calvin Pace sack Russell for a Jets fumble recovery at the Raiders' 4. Four plays later, Jets running back Thomas Jones banged in a 1-yard touchdown run.
Never mind that Cable blamed it on Russell for ignoring checkdown options and holding the ball too long. Barnes said that's all on him.
"The first play of the game is going to haunt me," Barnes said. "I'm just going to have nightmares over that one. That's unacceptable."
Seymour said that about the defense spotting the Jets a 24-0 halftime lead, even if that included two 4-yard touchdown drives off Russell turnovers.
The defense had to make red-zone stops because the Raiders' offense can't keep up in a shootout. They scored 20 points in the season opener, but never more than 13 points since.
"That's not the type of team we have, to spot teams 14, 21 points and try to come back and win," Seymour said. "We didn't create turnovers and we didn't stop the run.
"So, I don't think we could've beat an Oakland high school team today."
The entire defense took turns kicking itself for allowing two 100-yard rushers on a 316-yard rushing day.
It was the team's most rushing yards allowed since the Seahawks ran for 319 against Oakland in 2001.
"When we miss tackles, that's kind of what happens," middle linebacker Kirk Morrison said.
Even Gradkowski said, "My bad." He lost a fumble at the Jets' 29 when sacked from behind in the third quarter.
"That's going to kill me tonight," Gradkowski said. "If I take care of the football there, we score and that changes a little momentum."
So, everybody said it's their own fault. Except for Russell, who answered "Yes" when asked if he was happy with all his reads and decisions.
As for Cable benching him?
"He's the head guy," Russell said. "He probably feels like he shouldn't give a reason."

what's the bad blood with Gannon about?
Now as a member of the media, Gannon had the audacity to *gasp* say a few things critical of the Raiders organization. Since Al Davis and Co. have thin skin, that's where the bad blood stems.
As long as JaMarcus Russell stays around long enough to ruin their 2010 season, I'll be happy.
What are the odds he's the starting QB in Oakland this time next year?
As a fellow SEC fan, I'm sure you agree with me that we all knew this was inevitable. Has a guy ever made so much money and been so completely overrated based off of one game?

An answer so obvious I should have guessed it myself.
