Having been born and growing up in Atlanta my dad and I watched the Falcons every sunday. I love going to the dome and watching the Falcons no matter their record. I am looking forward to taking my young son to games when he gets older.
Obviously there have been more bad years than good. But, I wish they would cut Vick and see what harrington can do. The Shaub deal was a good deal for the Falcons so I am not pissed he is no longer an option. But let Vick go. I feel as passionate as this as when I wanted Rocker off the Braves.

If he is convicted of this dog fighting stuff the NFL needs to suspend him for the year. Im not defending Pac Man by any means, but this surpasses anything that Pac Man has been convicted of at this point.

In all seriousness, one of the most disturbing pieces of news to come out of this is witnesses place Vick at a dogfight in 2000 while he was still in school.

I haven't seen a shred of hard evidence they could convict him on other than owning the property. The espn piece is hearsay, and the majority of investigators haven't released anything decent but it's not that suprising either he's been in it and bank rolling it since VA Tech and likely in his high school days. This is the kind of thing you grow up in. It's backwoods country hick entertainment.
this being said, I'm not defending dogfighting or hell even breeding pit bulls. Dogs are not inherently bad, people train them to be bad, but ask a vet, pit bulls are the most youthanized dog by far. Obviously there are exceptions, but largely the majority of people who own pit bulls are scumbags. Of all the breeds in the world you chose pit bull? Nice. Great dogs around kids......
As far as the Falcons are concerned, Harrington is on par with Schaub but he's actually got more experience, I'm pulling for Shockley. If I have to watch them lose 10+ I'd rather see Shock get the experience and he'd be more interesting.
At this point just cut Vick, I'm tired of hearing about this and all the other crap. Babaneaux already had the SPCA out.
If this is supposed to be a "community oriented good citizen team" they can't have this guy as the posterboy.
I still say he's a hell of a talent, but at this point he might as well be Jeff George.
Pac Man is suspended because he started a retarded fight in a night club in which a man shot by one of his crew got paralyzed. Ultimately, the league should wash their hands of Vick (once he's charged) Pac Man (once he's charged) and Chris Henry (right now)
That would be a good lesson to the young aspiring criminals to clean it up.
after June 1st if there is a charge they may retain vick and put him on the inactive roster (IE Tank Johnson) until the trial is over because Atlanta is such a racially sensitive town and Vick is the new OJ. The Falcons won't cut him outright I would think unless they see hard evidence, or there is a conviction, they do not want to cut this guy if he's exonerated (even though he's largely bad PR) because assholes like Jesse Jackson will stir up the racial hatred if they cut him before a conviction.
