Sporting news-more information, it may lack the photos but the amount of actual information I found is far greater.

I'll agree with more information out of Sporting News but probably better stories out of Sports Illustrated.

And both are ten times better than ESPN's.

SI only because of Verducci and Dr. Z.

I can't stand Rushin and Peter King.

Dr Z's NFL predictions are usually good comedy value.

I do read SI occasionally, but I like the information from SN much much better.

SI has some very very preachy columnists.

no doubt, he's awful

he's easily one of the better mainstream football writers out there.

if you're into lame puff pieces about the retarded field goal kicker who made the varsity and ended up hitting the big kick in the big game for some one-horse town in the middle of nowhere and now the whole town loves him, well then yes, Reilly rules. when he's not doing that, he's bashing Bonds (how original). I'll pass.

you could pick apart the predictions of most writers out there and have a good laugh. What I like about Dr. Z is that he literally records tons of games each week and then assigns grades to each player. His all-pro teams are based on his grades. While some may disagree with his results, at the very least you have to admire his willingness to come up with an informed opinion - unlike some writers (PETER KING) who simply latch onto whoever made the highlight reel each week. Also, I find his Power Rankings and mailbag pretty entertaining and informative.
