Yep, I'm watching. While the Bears lost in the last round, I can solace in the fact that they made it further than Texas this year. And this was supposed to be our rebuilding year.

The ACC is the best conference in basketball, and that's it. One good year in baseball doesn't wipe out how dominant the Big 12 is in that sport. Same with football. Most people will concede that the ACC had an up year in '05 and beat out the Big 12, but this year, '04, '03, '02... the Big 12 reigns over the ACC in CF. The Big 12 has something like 100 more NCAA team titles in college sports than the ACC does.
And anyway, the SEC is the best conference in college sports. It's no contest.

closely followed by the SEC...
followed by the Big Ten....
followed by the Big XII...
followed by the Pac-Ten...
followed by the Big East.
imo
Are we talking this year or period?

wait till Miami and FSU start dominating college football again, and then you tell me the ACC isn't better... and I'm talknig currently here... not all-time or any shit like that... it wouldnt be fair... currently, i think the ACC is turning into the best conference in all of sports... adding Miami was huge... and BC isn't hurting anything either... ACC has owned college basketball for years, football is on the rise, and baseball is obviously king... i know the SEC destroys everyone in track and field, BUT i believe FSU won it all this year... soccer, well women's soccer is run by UNC... and i'm not really sure about men's soccer... anyway, these are some of the top sports, and you'd be hard-pressed to deny their strength... like i said... it is closely followed by the SEC... maybe they can share the topspot, i dont care... but those 2 are the topdogs, no doubt...

Uh, based on Miami and FSU of late.... I think Clemson has a solid shot at winning that conference this year.

Right now, based on the strength of rosters right now, I don't see how you could say the ACC is a better football conference than the Big 12.
right now, eh?
If you put any stock in preseason mags, than yes.
i really dont know... i havent looked into it much... all im sayin, is once Miami and FSU get their shit together, the ACC will be the king of college football... maybe not just yet, but give it a little more time... and honestly, i know the SEC is the shit... but i dont think you can argue it better than the ACC... while it would also be tough to argue ACC over SEC... they definitely have the best athletes

I don't think it's all that tough to argue the SEC over the ACC at this point, or anybody for that matter. With Arkansas returning 19 starters, LSU getting the top prep RB prospect in the country Russell back...
I get my info from a lot of sources, but Phil Steele is the one that I usually place the most stock in because he is rarely wrong when ranking, and his 2006 projection goes like this:
1. SEC
2. Big 12
3. Big 10
4. ACC
5. Pac 10
6. Big East
7. Mt. West
8. CUSA
9. WAC
10. MAC
11. Indy
12. Sunbelt
While his final 2005 rankings looked like this:
1. SEC
2. ACC
3. Big 10
4. Big 12
5. Pac 10
6. Big East
...
And he's not the only one. It's not an exact science, but I trust the pros and everything I read about these teams to determine my views, and the SEC is the best conference right now. The ACC just isn't impressing me for this upcoming season. They lost more talent than almost anybody else.
