Least sucky year in a long damn time, people. If not for last week's fuck-up, we'd be killer.

Here's me and my brother-in-law watching the Browns lose their playoff bid a couple of weeks ago!

I don't know...the schedules of our two teams next year are beyond brutal...although we don't get the Pats or Chargers. :P

i would think the translation would go as follows: give my client an extension now or he goes to miami to talk to parcells, who most likely will give him what we want.

you got to think right?

and how does that happen with 2 years left on his deal? his agent is just asking for an extension so that next season romeo's not viewed as a lame duck.

the rumor mill has parcells and miami possibly asking permission to talk and usually teams will allow such a thing...the browns would receive due compensation...

well that's one way to get back their first round pick... but obviously, it won't be the first overall pick.

I'd have to look it up, but didn't the Jets get something from KC for Herm Edwards? What about about your boy...didn't the Jets get something for him? Also the Patriots got something for the Tuna going to the Jets? I could be wrong on all accounts, but I recall something of the sorts. The Raiders got something for Gruden from the Bucs too...right? Maybe I am just hallucenating...now that I brainstorm, it seems like it happens frequently.

the answer is yes, i don't know all the picks that were swapped during these coaching changes, but it has happened, and would happen if romeo went to miami. i just don't see parcells doing that. he needs the picks to improve the team, the HC doesn't matter as much as the immediate need for talent. why not keep the pick and wait for romeo to become a free agent after another season and then have both the coach he wants and the players he likes.

I agree with you. Maybe he knows something we don't...he is the GM...

The perfect scenario would be to trade that #1 pick (soon,) pick up the extra picks this season and maybe next, then get Crennel for this year...but who knows if that is possible.

lets keep that talk in the miami thread.

if i'm the browns, i think they had a great draft last year and are in a very good position with derek anderson being restricted, to have their team develop even more for next season. i truly believe eric wright was an amazing pick.

i said it earlier...i think the browns, as long as they retain anderson and crennell are going to win the division...

Wright is already the best player in the Cleveland secondary, even ahead of Bodden and Jones.

The Jets got a 4th from KC by trading Edwards. I laughed my ass off at how stupid the Chiefs were.
