Minor league manager Joe Mikulik had a major league meltdown.

To say Mikulik -- skipper for the Asheville (N.C.) Tourists -- lost his cool Sunday in a Class A South Atlantic League baseball game against the Lexington (Ky.) Legends would be a gross understatement.

It all started in the fifth inning when Asheville pitcher Brandon Durden tried to pick off Koby Clemens -- son of Roger Clemens -- at second base inside Lexington's Applebee's Park. Clemens was called safe, prompting Mikulik to charge toward first-base umpire Andy Russell to protest the call.

Protest he did.

The agitated Mikulik went nose-to-nose with Russell, who showed considerable restraint before tossing the manager. Even after his ejection, Mikulik demonstrated a headfirst slide into second before he picked up the base and flung it toward the outfield. On his walk toward the visitors' dugout, Mikulik stopped at the pitcher's mound, picked up the rosin bag and hurled it toward first base.

Doing his best Lou Piniella impersonation -- with The Righteous Brothers' "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" blaring over the PA system -- Mikulik then stopped at home plate and kicked dirt on the plate and on the heels of retreating umpire Stephen Barga.

And moments after Mikulik disappeared into the dugout, bats came flying onto the field -- much to the concern of a startled batboy standing nearby.

Mikulik wasn't done yet. He walked back to plate umpire Barga, emptied a water bottle onto the plate and then finished the tirade by spiking the bottle into the dirt -- all the while arguing the call.

As a chorus of boos rang through the stadium, Mikulik began his slow march off the field to the tune of Ray Charles' "Hit The Road Jack." Mikulik untucked his shirt and eventually disappeared through a door in the right-field wall.

Oh, the Tourists lost 5-2.

The video is priceless

Ozzie is bushleague compared to this minor league manager. That temper tantrum was hilarious.

I go to a tourists game once or twice a month, and I've seen him lose it several times. Quite a temper, but this was hilarious.

Heard that he stacked a bunch of water coolers in front of the umps room so they couldn't get in.

plz share the whole story

we were playing at 830 in the morning so i was in kind of a bad mood, and i play very physical, and i took this kid down, and he was bitching about it being a foul, so i told him to stfu... the ref heard me so i got a yellow... its a tourny and weve been playing for two days straight, and its done nothing but rain so were basically playing in a swamp... so i go for a slide tackle, and end up sliding into a puddle of water, which carries me into this kid who i took out, and it looked like a bad foul, but had there been no water i wouldve gotten all ball and it wouldve been fine... he gives me another yellow, so im already ejected so i drop a few f bombs and let him know hes oblivious to the field conditions

that made me miss the last game of the tourney, which we needed to win to move on and all we did was tie so i was pissed about that, because i play midfield and usually play a decent role in our team winning, but we had to put a kid who wasnt really comfortable with controlling the ball at mid

i didnt intend for this to be this long, but this was more or less what happened
