soccer is more of a sport than football, baseball, or basketball
clearly you have never played and dont understand the skill and toughness that is required to be a good soccer player
nascar and golf are not sports

Personally for me, I've always liked a sport to be "a game in which you can defend your opponent from set goal"

i usually agree with your posts here on RM . but i really have to diasagree. ah i don;t feel like writing a huge paragraph about soccer, and i won;t .. so

but i'm glad to see that hockey wasn't one of the sports tougher than soccer.

i forgot hockey, i also hate hockey, but they might be close, seriously, ask anyone thats ever played soccer for their whole life and they will tell you how much skill and toughness it takes... soccer along with boxing has made me a much tougher person, also the endurance required to run constantly as a midfielder for 90 minutes with one 5 min break is overwhelming

i can understand someone else's perspective about soccer that has never played it, but from someone who has competed in all those sports except hockey, soccer is by far the toughest and most energy-draining sport ive ever played

I've always found hockey far tougher than soccer.

And no, golf is a game.

Yes they do. In fact id be surprised if some football players trained as much as the fitter guys on tour. Golf is a sport, just because you dont break into a sprint on the course doesnt make it not. Ill definately go along with Nascar not being a sport though

golf is one of the hardest and most frustrating things ive ever participated in, but i dont see how it is a sport... there is barely any physical activity in golf

You could make and argument that golf is a sport if you look at the more specialized players of other sports. Kickers and DH's use one particluar motion over and over, and are considered sportsman, and golfers do basically the same thing.

I dont think a sport really has to have heaps of physical activity, if theres a ball involved and some level of physical fitness is needed then its a sport. I know John Daly plays, but hes a freak. Generally if you arent well built and flexible you wont have the distance or the finesse

kickers take some punishment on kickoffs
lets see tiger woods take some of those hits
i agree with you to an extent, but that only applies to two players on a football team and 1 player on a baseball team
