Question for the college football fans: is he worth taking in the supplemental draft? I don't think I've seen the guy play a single minute...but I've read that he has the potential to be an impact player in the NFL.
Thoughts?

Yes.
should have phrased my question differently.
Is he worth a #2 pick? A #3? I think I want Big Blue to take this guy....

He's a monster. And with 3-4 experience. I'm hoping Parcells drops a 2nd rounder on him tomorrow. He's worth that much.
He has had some off-field issues, but nothing too outrageous. He will be a very good NFL player someday. A lot of people had him projected as the top ILB in this draft class before and after the college football season.

Yes, if you can get the guy in the right environment I think he has the chance to be a quality NFL player. He could be a beast. It's pretty tough to find true ILB's who can make plays. I think Brooks can be one of those types of players.
Put it this way.... a nearly 260lb ILB with speed who you can drop into coverage..... hell yes take a flyer on him.
At worst he could be an Elbert Shelley type special teams monster.
I'm unsure about picks, definately a 3. I'm not sure about a 2 it depends on how much you value your picks to add depth I guess.

He smokes enough pot to be a member of the Wailers so that could be an issue down the road. The guy has talent, mainly size and some serious speed. He actually returned kicks a couple of times last season.
Thinking of starting a team of severed ball players-Ahmad Brook, Fred Rouse, Willie Williams, Avery Atkins...

As a season ticket holder for Maryland football, I have been able to follow this guy for his tenure at UVGAY, and he was a guy who let his off of the field problems interfere with his ability to reach his amazing potential.
I don't know if I'd want the Ravens to spend a #2 pick on him.
i know the fins forfeited one of their picks in the regular draft for a pick in the supplemental draft..not sure how that works tho..maybe theyll go after this guy

He would have been a first rounder if not for these problems. But to his credit, he's kept his nose clean since becoming a pro.
alcohol and diciplinary incidents. IE. He went to the bars in Athens and got in a few fights. (rare is the night one goes out in Athens and dosen't find some jerk talking shit, but you want your linebackers to be mean anyway.)
Not a big deal at all, the Packers blew that one. O hell is a beast, besides the Quarterback they are so fond of up there was the biggest drunk in Atlanta before he got traded up to GB. Pollack should be coming around this season for Cincy too. Brooks is a great pickup. I think he'll end up on special teams.
Imagine if they had taken Thurman and not Rogers at 20? Wow, talk about taking a QB at the wrong time...and a Tedford product at that.
Sure Farve would still throw 30 interceptions and they'd be down to the 25th string running back, but the defense would have been more stout.
